Samsung Fascinate - New Phone on Verizon

The Samsung Fascinate was released the 9th of September 2010. It's a rather light phone, weighing just under 120 grams, with a impressive 13 days of standby battery power, a lovely 4 inch touch screen display, although the phone only comes with 2gb of internal memory and this can of course be upgraded with a MicroSD card.

The Samsung fascinate was a lovely 720p video recording camera, which is great for such a light phone, amazingly the default search engine for the Samsung fascinate isn't Google, it's not even Yahoo, it in fact uses Bing by default, which is something new for Samsung.

The handset uses the Google Andriod OS, so it's quite strange that, the phone uses Google's phone OS, but doesn't have Google as the default search engine. In fact you can't even change your phone to use Google, now we've got no problem with Bing, but this is rather strange.

Annoyingly when I was playing around with the phone, it seemed to freeze up when doing, well some basic tasks, such as swapping between applications, or returning to the home screen. The features of this phone are great, but obviously Samsung just didn't spend the right amount of time making sure the phone and all it's features ran smoothly.

The sound quality was great, the speakerphone is able to go pretty loud without any loss of sound, on most phones if they get as load as this, it starts to distort and you have problems trying to make out what the other person was saying.

Overall, the phone is pretty good, but has a couple of faults and can be quite sluggish at times, it does freeze rather annoyingly, but overall is a OK phone if you can put up with it freezing and being slow!
