Free 411 Services for Cell Phones and Home

We are all accustomed to dialing 411 when it comes to gaining instant access to local directory phone numbers. We have all used this service, and yes, we have all looked at our bills at the end of the month in total dismay.

While widely agreed on the value of the service it is costly! Some companies these days can charge up to or over .00 just to dial this service. These charges easily add up to another costly expense on your monthly phone bill. We are shocked to even watch how.25 charges can add up and we all vow to not use it, but you know you do, and will again. How will you get around this ever so dreaded 411 charge without incurring the inconvenience of never dialing 411 again?

Verizon

There is a free way my friends. While the number is a bit inconvenient, a little memorizing or autodial programming and you'll be dialing free directory inquiries as much as you want cost free.

While the number is toll free, it must be remembered that normal per minute cell phone charges will apply. This number can be dialed from any phone however so get your pencils ready. 1-800-FREE-411 or 1-800-373-3411

The service is free but unlike normal 411 you will not get a live operator. The system is automated through voice prompting. So a little extra dialing and a little memory jogging and you can save your wallet a bundle. Again this works from any phone, so happy information seeking folks!

The Advantages of a Smartphone

The world of mobile communication has been exploding with smartphones. You have Blackberry, iPhone and the Droid leading the industry with Verizon, AT&T, and T-mobile service. Just 10 years ago the cell phone era begin to take places and everyone thought being able to make phone calls from a cell phone was the incredible, and at the time, it was. But within the last 10 years cell phones have transformed into mobile devices that do anything from receive and send emails to watch videos online. They have become mini computers that also make phone calls.

Now that smartphones can literally do hundreds, if not thousands, of tasks other than make phone calls we are able to become more mobile are people. We don't need to look up directions, add things in our heads, call the theater for movie times, or even watch the news for the weather. All of these things are available with one click of out smartphone. If you lost in a foreign country or even an unfamiliar town you can use Google Maps to navigate you in the right direction. If you are trying to decide between a few restraints why not look reviews up on your phone? And believe it or not there are apps where you can locate your friends and see what they are doing right at this moment in time. Not only do smartphones make your life easier they can make it more exciting by picking and choosing what friend you want to go hang out with by looking up what they are currently doing.

Verizon

Once you begin using a smartphone it is hard to imagine your life without one. You begin to get used to the instant email to your phone, Facebook notification, instant message from your friend, or even the ability to look up a definition using your dictionary.com app. Smartphones may be more expensive that your normal cell phone but the add convenience may be well worth the money depending on how much of an exciting life and they have almost become a necessity among teenagers today.

How To Set Up PSP Internet

The Sony PSP can do more than just play games, movies and music. This hand held machine can surf the internet as well. However, setting up PSP internet is often times the most asked question. I have prepared this simple step by step guide to help you set up your PSP for internet.

Before we begin, you must have a wireless network available and I highly suggest disabling the security encryption (WEP) on the wireless router for your first initial set up since the PSP seems to have problems reading the key. Upon powering up your PSP, make sure that the WLAN switch is turned on. Use your directional pad to go to the settings icon on the far left of your PSP screen and scroll down to the network settings icon.

Verizon

From the network settings, highlight the "infrastructure mode" and click to enter. The next page will ask you to select a connection to edit. If this is your first time setting up a connection, just go ahead and click [new connection]. You will then be directed to the WLAN settings page and there should be four options.

There are a couple of ways to do this, but the easiest way to set up your internet connection is to click on the first option to allow your PSP to automatically scan for the nearest and strongest access point, which should be your router. This should take a couple of seconds. Your PSP should display your SSID information as well as the security and signal strength. Click on your SSID.

Then use the directional pad to scroll to the right to go to the WLAN security settings. Since we have disabled your security settings for your online network, just highlight none and proceed to the address settings page. In the address settings page, highlight "easy" and go to the next page.

The next page allows you to create a name for this connection. Feel free to name this connection anything you want. Once you enter the name of your connection, you will be able to preview your settings list which should show the connection name of your SSID, your security settings and IP address. Scroll to the next page and save your settings. Once your settings are saved, click to test internet connection.

Now go online to test the connection, we must go back to the desktop and go to the network icon on the far right. Find internet browser icon and click to open browser. If you get a blank page, click on the triangle button to open the browser menu. Congratulations and hopefully you are ready to surf the internet. I hope this has been helpful in setting up your PSP internet connection.

Setting Up a Wireless Satellite Internet Network

There are several advantages of going wireless with your internet service. You can network your home or office computers easier, you aren't tethered to the wall and you can access the internet on multiple computers at the same time. If you are interested in going wireless and you are also interested in satellite internet service, then you may want to set up a wireless satellite internet network.

The first step is to subscribe to a satellite internet service. These services are broadband so they are generally going to work with wireless networking equipment that has traditionally been used to create wireless networks for land based broadband internet services. The three top choices for satellite internet service are StarBand, HughesNet and WildBlue.

Verizon

While you are waiting for your satellite internet service to be installed, you will want to buy all of the wireless networking equipment that you will need. First of all if you don't have a computer that has an internal wireless networking card already built in then you will want to either buy one that does, or you will want to buy a wireless network adapter. Next you will need a wireless router.

After your satellite internet system has been set up you will be ready to connect your wireless network. To start with, connect your satellite internet modem to the router. The router will then send signals to your computer via infrared signals. Configure your router following the instructions that came with your router.

If you are using a wireless network adapter you will want to plug this into a USB port in your computer. Otherwise your computer should receive the signal using its internal wireless card. Turn your computer on and follow the instructions that came with your satellite internet system to set up your account if your technician didn't already do this for you. That's all there is to it.

What is the Best Verizon FiOS Package For You?

There are a lot of different Verizon FiOS packages that you can choose from if you are thinking about switching to Verizon FiOS service. Think you can't afford Verizon FiOS service? You can and probably should. No matter what your budget is - there is a Verizon FiOS package that will work for you. If you're looking for a package that has the best value, then the Verizon FiOS Triple Play is probably what you're looking for.

The Triple Play combines Internet service, cable TV service and home phone service. A lot of people choose the Triple Play because it makes it easier when the time comes to pay bills each month. But there are more packages that you can choose from, depending on what your individual needs are. Here are some tips to help you choose the best Verizon FiOS package for you:

Verizon

Figure out how much service you need so that you don't pay extra money for extra services you're not using - To keep costs down you should really think about how many TV channels that you will really watch on a regular basis and how much Internet service you actually use from month to month. For example, if you live alone and you only watch certain shows on certain channels, then you can probably choose a TV package from Verizon FiOS that has only the channels that you watch on a regular basis. That will be cheaper than signing up for a package that will give you a plethora of channels that you don't watch.

If you don't download a lot of videos or music from the Internet, and you don't have kids in the house or people that play a lot of online games, then you can sign up for a smaller amount of Internet bandwidth and that will save you money too. Bundling your TV and Internet services from Verizon FiOS will also save you money.

Weigh all of the costs and benefits, not just the money - The value of cable TV service and Internet service goes way beyond just what the actual cost of the service is. You have to take into account other factors like the cost of other entertainment factors. You could spend or more on a night out at the movies if you're buying snacks and drinks and a movie ticket for more than just yourself, but you could have a movie night at home for all of you and your family and friends for a fraction of that cost. If you have your own business or you work at home, the cost of having reliable, high speed Internet service is more of a business expense than a luxury, so even if you have to spend a little more, it's worth it to have a reliable Internet service like Verizon FiOS.

In the end, only you can decide which is the best Verizon FiOS package for you and your family but take your time and look at all the options that Verizon FiOS offers before you make a decision. Keep in mind that getting a more expensive package deal that includes more TV channels and faster Internet service might actually save you money in the long run.

Where to Find A Person's Verizon Phone Number - 3 Easy Ways to Help You Get Started

Verizon is a phone provider that has been in the market for years now. What is good about this phone is that it has unique specifications and it also has high storage for phone numbers and text messages. And since the internet is a necessity for one's information, the Verizon can give an easy access.

But a common question always arises in forums or emails regarding "where to find a person's Verizon phone number?" and since this kind of question has been answered over and over again for years now, it can be narrowed down to 3 easy ways:

Verizon

1. Ask your friends - Many people fail to do the basics, friends can always help you find what you are looking for. People forget that if you are trying to find your former office mate's number, long lost friend or even your ex, the circle of friends you have will be the first to know their whereabouts or even their numbers, you just have to ask them.

2. Use the Internet Search Engines - Google,Yahoo are one of the many search engines you can start your research, look for a site that will support the phone service that you require. Choose the best site that will give you the information that you will need.

3. Look for reverse phone look up services - If the two steps can't give you what you want, then it's time to look for a reverse directory. There are many services offered in the internet, some of them are even for free, all you have to do is to search and choose the best one that fits you.

Treadmill Recalls - How They Work?

Treadmills are no different than any other consumer product. There is no way to avoid the small overlooked problems missed due to human error. We simply cannot promise problem free or perfection of anything. Manufacturer recalls vary enormously in reasons as well as their ability to offer correct statistics. You may have a recalled treadmill and not know it, even if you have experienced the reason for that products recall. Here are two recent recalls, then how the information is obtained, and why the accuracy is usually poor.

The 2006 Premier Console from Verizon Fitness was recalled on June 12, 2006 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. These were sold from September 2005 to October 2005 and had an average price of 00 depending on which of the three versions purchased. The reason for the recall was a programming error in the top console. It can cause an unexpected increase in speed and the level of elevation when the settings for two of the programs are set to run for over thirty minutes. The results of which would obviously be harm due to falling off of the treadmill.

Verizon

Cybex itself has had four recalls since late 2003. The most recent occurred in October 2008 on the 29th. Reasons for the recall are similar to that of the previously mentioned Verizon Fitness recall, with exceptions of the number of affected products and the number of reported injuries. The Verizon product states only around 500 affected while the Cybex states around 20,000. No injuries have yet been reported from Verizon while 24 have been reported resulting from the Cybex.

It is extremely important to understand that these numbers only reflect what information the manufacturer has. For example, by saying there have been 24 reported incidents, it is in all reality possible that even thousands of injured have occurred and merely not been reported. This idea is similar when stating the number of units affected. If 5000 were sold of that model. It must be understood that every one of the 5000 can possibly have the defect causing the recall.

When stating how many units are affected by a recall, it is decided by only information that has been provided to the manufacturer. A treadmill may speed up on its own, yet the owner may simply choose to restart the program and continue their workout. If it is not seen to the person as any danger, usually it just is not at all worth the hassle. If you absolutely love your treadmill and have a defect you deem as just too minor, you probably will want to just keep it; seeing no reason to deal with the hassle of returning the entire treadmill, how to even do so and staring all over in your quest to find another treadmill that suits your needs, by doing the research again, and then finding the best price. Etc. It is these that don't get reported to the Consumer Safety Commission; throwing numbers off and therefore they can never have a very good idea of how many units actually have the defect causing the recall.

Cingular Wireless Vs. Verizon Wireless

As a first time buyer, you have the choice of getting a "Pay-as-you-go" plan, where you buy a phone and a "bucket" of minutes. Let's jus say that you basically pay for just the minutes you use and nothing else.

Minutes are typically

There is also another one where you just pay .00 a day for any day you use the phone and then

Verizon has EasyPay which is .00 a month for 300 minutes (lowest plan), and also does not have a commitment and does have unlimited nights and weekends. The EasyPay minutes can only be used in the EasyPay area and you pay roaming charges for any areas that are not part of the EasyPay territory. InPulse is the pay-as-you-go plan from Verizon and is .10 a minute, .99 a day for any day you
use the phone.

Basically, both carriers have a similar plan and both have a special plan for pay-as-you-go. Phones for Verizon for these plans range from .99 to 9.99 and there are three available. Cingular has several models to choose from ranging from .99. All of the models of phones from both carriers will be easy to use and there are "non-fancy" models available that should be very good for a brand new user.

The other type of service is the monthly type, where you buy or get a phone for no charge with a two-year commitment. The lowest Cingular and Verizon plan is .99 for 450 minutes, 5,000 minutes for nights and weekends and free mobile-to-mobile calls. Nights with Verizon start at 9:01pm and go to 5:59am the next time.

Cingular's nights are 9:00pm to 7:00am the next day. Weekends with Verizon are 12:00am Saturday to 11:59pm Sunday. Cingular's are Friday at 9:00pm to Monday at 7:00am. Cingular has rollover minutes (if you don't use your minutes, they roll over to the next month and add to your minute bucket), Verizon does not have a rollover plan.

If most of your family and friends have Verizon, you probably won't benefit from the free mobile-to-mobile with them if you choose Cingular, but you would with your work peers if they take advantage of the Cingular discount and have Cingular service. The employee discount is only available on the monthly plans and is not available for the pay-as-you-go plans.

If you decide on Cingular, you can contact Cingular directly; they can give you the name of the person responsible for your company's account, who can help you with the Premier web site. You will get special on-line discounts with both companies, if you decide to purchase on-line.

As far as coverage goes, both Verizon and Cingular have coverage, but it appears that the Cingular coverage is better (this is not an original Verizon territory, so they may not have built up the area as well as Cingular, perhaps). Verizon definitely has decent coverage (as I'm sure your friends will attest to, so don't rule out Verizon based on coverage).

Verizon has a 15 day trial period and Cingular has a 30 day trial period. If you decide after the trial period that you don't like or want the phone and/or service, you are not on the hook for the 2 year commitment. This is not available with the pay-as-you-go plans.

.10 a minute for every minute you use. These are good types of plans for people who only need their phone for emergencies or the occasional call.

.10 and with Cingular, there are basically two different Pay-as-you-Go plans - one where you get free mobile-to-mobile calls and rollover for .99 for 200 minutes (lowest plan) with no commitment (up to .99 for 600 minutes with unlimited nights and weekends and mobile-to-mobile. All of these plans have rollover minutes.

Verizon Wireless Deals For Existing Customers - Plus A Great Place To Find Verizon Deals Online

There are a few places to check out when looking for Verizon Wireless deals for existing customers. You will get the best price on a new phone when you are eligible for a Verizon upgrade based on your service contract dates, and extend your service with a new two-year agreement. This article discusses the potential deals existing Verizon customers can get, and also shows you a great place to find Verizon deals online.

Verizon Upgrade Eligibility And Options

Verizon

As an existing Verizon customer, you will get the best phone deals when you extend your service contract for another 2 years. As long as you are happy with Verizon's wireless network and their customer service, this is really a no-brainer. You can often get really great phones for FREE when you meet eligibility requirements, and sign up for a new two-year agreement. If you are not sure exactly when you are eligible for an upgrade, you can check your eligibility dates online. "New Every Two" promotion - Depending on when you started your Verizon service, you may have been enrolled in their "New Every Two" marketing promotion. If you established your Verizon service with a two-year contract before February 15th, 2009, you can redeem a credit of or 0, depending on your plan. If your service started on February 15th, 2009 or later, then you can redeem a credit of or depending on your plan. Log into your My Verizon account to see if you were enrolled in this marketing promotion. You can find this under the "My Plan --> Additional Features" section of your Account Profile. You should see the label "New Every Two" if you were enrolled in this promotion. Verizon wireless often runs different promotions and sales throughout the year. Simply going to their website, you can review current deals on phones and service plans. Be sure to review the fine print of any promotion! Verizon's "Worry Free" Guarantee - Verizon offers a 14-day Satisfaction Guarantee, where for any reason if you are not satisfied, you can cancel your service with no termination fees, and return your phone equipment for a full refund. However, some equipment may have a restocking fee. Verizon Trade-In Program - When you upgrade or get a new phone, you could trade-in your old phone to Verizon. On their website, you can easily get an "appraisal" to see how much cash you can get for trading-in and recycling your old phone. Some models will earn you more cash than you would expect!

Other Places To Find Verizon Deals

Verizon is not the only place for existing customers to qualify for great deals. Many well-known retailers are "Authorized Verizon Resellers", and in working with their Verizon partnership agreements, they can offer additional savings and promotions when you renew or extend your service through their stores.

Check out the Verizon satellite retail desks at places like Costco and Best Buy. As an example, the last time I visited my local Costco, they were offering the same promotion from Verizon at the time. But in addition, they also offered an "accessory package" that included a car charger, protective carrying case and a bluetooth headset, all for free when signing up with them.

Because of the fast-paced competitive consumer market for cell phones and plans, finding the absolute best Verizon wireless deals for existing customers greatly depends on the timing of what is happening in the market right now.

Verizon FiOS - What Are the Experts Saying?

Verizon FiOS offers some of the best deals on the market when you bundle services, but most people want to know what experts and other customers are saying about Verizon FiOS before they switch their service. There are a lot of choices when it comes to Internet and TV service, and choosing a provider can be a difficult one. Reading reviews on different TV and Internet services can be time consuming, but it's worth taking the time to find out what the experts are saying about a service if you want to make an informed decision. Here's what the experts are saying about Verizon FiOS in three key areas:

1. Quality - For any Internet or TV service, ultimately what the experts will be really looking for is quality. Is the quality worth the price? Most experts agree that Verizon FiOS is the best value on the market when it comes to quality. When reviewing the channel line ups that Verizon FiOS offers versus the channel lineups offered by most cable companies and satellite TV providers, Verizon FiOS was the clear winner.

Verizon

One reviewer remarked that he really likes that Verizon FiOS offers channels like the HD National Geographic channel as part of the standard lineup and not as an expensive add on. Reviewers praised the selection of both traditional and HD channels that Verizon offers. More than one reviewer said that for the price, you won't find a better lineup of channels anywhere.

Industry reviewers also liked that the Verizon FiOS On Demand library contains a mixture of movies, TV shows, music videos, and content from popular TV channels. The cost of the On Demand movies is about average, but some reviewers said that Verizon offers a lot more free content than most of the cable or satellite providers do. They reported that the quality of the Internet service was top notch and that they noticed less downtime when they were using the Verizon FiOS service.

2. Cost - Cost is usually a big concern to consumers, especially these days. But according to industry experts, Verizon FiOS is the best in the industry when it comes to cost - and also offers the greatest value. For the services, channels, and content that VerizonFiOS provides, the experts say that the cost is very affordable and well worth it. They liked the packages and bundles that Verizon FiOS offers and found an in-depth comparison that the average person can save more than per month by choosing Verizon FiOS for Internet and TV service instead of a cable or satellite company.

Not to mention that FiOS currently is running a promotion where new customers can get up to 5 Cash Back for bundling some of their services.

3. Customer Service - No one wants to have problems with their Internet or TV service, but if you do end up having problems it's nice to know if the company will help you out or not. Most of the experts in the industry who have dealt with Verizon FiOS customer service were happy with their experience and felt that their concerns were addressed in a timely and helpful way.

Overall the industry reviews of the Verizon FiOS service were very positive. Customer reviews have also been positive and many customers say that they would never go to back to traditional cable or satellite service again after having experienced how much more they can get for so much cheaper by using Verizon FiOS.

The Future Calls Alltel and Verizon Wireless

Alltel was long considered the most attractive of the second-tier cellular companies. This makes its acquisition for .1 billion by Verizon Wireless something of a milestone. If the deal is consummated, the new entity will be bigger than AT&T and thus the nation's largest mobile operator. Of course, as with any acquisition this size, the precise ramifications won't be apparent for a long time.

In any context, this is a big deal. Alltel has 13 million customers in 34 states, mostly in the south and midwest. The combined entity will have more than 80 million subscribers, comfortably more than AT&T's 71.4 million.

Verizon

It's axiomatic to say that the success of any merger or acquisition largely depends upon how adroitly the new company handles integration and other corporate matters. Both companies use Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). Starting with the same essential technical underpinnings builds on the economies of scale in purchasing and makes the combined entity more cohesive.

The wild card here is that the cellular industry is in the throes of great change. The market is shifting emphasis from voice to data. The network model limiting the phones people can bring to a particular network is beginning to fade. The industry still is figuring how it will utilize fixed mobile convergence (FMC) platforms. As we suggested earlier this week, FMC is getting hot again. Experts suggest, however, that there is real reason for optimism this time around.

The networking standard also is in flux, as deployment of 3G finishes and attention shifts to 4G. This is an extraordinarily important issue for the cellular industry. Increasingly, it looks as if LTE - Long Term Evolution - will win. It has been chosen by AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Alltel, so it is another area in which the coalescing companies are on the same page. It will be a long and challenging transition, however, since LTE is still relatively early in its development cycle.

The other carriers aren't standing still, of course. Perhaps by accident or perhaps to take at least a bit off the luster off the Verizon/Alltel announcement, AT&T said early last week that it had jacked up the speeds of its 3G services. The top downlink speed, this story says, increased by more than 20 percent and the top uplink speed accelerated by 50 percent. Far more detail is available in the release, but the bottom line is that the changes bring top downlink and uplink speeds to 1.7 Mbps and 1.2 Mbps, respectively.

Many mergers and acquisitions succeed or fail based on how the new entity deals with an essentially static industry. The Verizon/Alltel marriage may be a bit different in that its fate will hinge on how it reacts to changes that are only beginning to happen.

Save Money on Verizon FiOS Services With a Promo Code

Signing up for a new digital cable service and/or broadband service can be a little bit scary at first, especially for those consumers who are looking to squeeze every iota of value out of the deal. Potential Verizon FiOS customers are certainly no exception to this, though it could be argued that Verizon's extremely tempting high-performance offerings may actually lead some customers to buy more than they need. A logical approach to getting the best deal is needed, especially in hard economic times like these.

One can follow their own logic to finding the best FiOS deal, or opt for one of two tried and true approaches. The first approach involves picking only the services and features that one truly needs and making a want versus value assessment of features that they would like. For example, if digital telephone service is a must, but HBO falls into the 'want' category, then the digital phone service must be considered but the HBO package needs to be evaluated for price. The problem with this approach is that Verizon's FiOS bundles are tailored to different kinds of customers, and not everyone fits the mold. The result is almost invariable over-purchasing, and that turns people using this approach off.

Verizon

Alternatively, one can look for the best FiOS promotion codes for packages that meet their individual needs. In this case, the needs and wants assessments are still done, but then the best values are compared. This approach works wonderfully because it lets one focus on what is on the market versus what they would like. After all, who wouldn't want the best FiOS package for a nickel a month and a complimentary BMW to go with it? The problem is that those expectations are too high, and consumers are often unable to realistically gauge what they want to spend and end up spending too little or too much. Instead, looking for FiOS promo codes on the web is typically the very best way to find the best price point to get everything that one wants at a price that is reasonable to Verizon.

The best part might be that this approach typically results in better value, greater features, faster broadband performance, more channels, and/or other benefits than looking at bundles independently might offer. After all, a bundle that might be a little bit too much for one without a Verizon FiOS promo code might look more attractive with the discount that such a promotion code provides. This makes enjoying the additional features/channels/broadband speed so much easier, and who knows? Perhaps there is a great program on another channel that one would never have discovered without exploring a package that they thought was out of their reach.

What Internet Service Should I Get For My Home?

With so many Internet options to choose from, including various price ranges for High-Speed Internet depending on speed and service, let's break down the different types of Broadband solutions.

DSL (Digital subscriber line):

Verizon

DSL is a technology that offers transmission over the wires of a local telephone network. DSL can be used on the same line as your phone service. DSL speeds can range from 128 Kbps to 3 Mbps and are slower than cable broadband access. With over 30 million nationwide subscribers, DSL is only second to cable in Internet service reach.

Naked DSL

Naked DSL is a type of Internet where a phone line is not needed. The only provider to offer this service is AT&T, although Verizon does provide Naked DSL is some areas of the country. Verizon has invested heavily throughout the United Sates in FIOS (fiber optic service).

Cable Internet

Cable Internet is a service provided by your local cable television company. Providers will normally offer packages that include phone, Internet and TV to make it easy for the consumer to bundle packages that offer a discount rate. Cable internet access is also faster than a DSL connection and more reliable. Comcast based in Chicago is the largest cable service provider in the United States.

Satellite Internet

Satellite Internet access is usually your last option if your in need of a high-speed connection. Usually customers will order satellite if they live in a remote area or don't have access to DSL or cable broadband services. Another reason for less reliability is that sudden inclement weather may drop your internet connection for an extended period of time until weather clears up.

The best way to find the best Internet provider for your needs at a good price is to shop around. DSL, Satellite and Cable Internet Service providers are competing for your business, so let them earn it!

Activation Instructions For Verizon Cell Phones

We are providing this guide for both new and existing customers of Verizon Wireless. The following instructions are specific for those who use Verizon Wireless.

Step 1: Remove the battery out of your Verizon cell phone and locate the ESN number, which is on the sticker under the battery. The number you are looking for is either noted as an ESN number or a HEX number and is located in the back of the phone under the battery.

Verizon

Step 2: Once the ESN or HEX number has been located, simply call the Verizon Wireless phone number below. A customer service rep shoud be able to get your phone up and running in 10 minutes or less.

Verizon Wireless Customer Service Phone Number - 1-800-922-0204

NOTE - If you purchase the phone from the internet, we do no recommend going to the actual Verizon Wireless store. A sales persons main intention once you walk in the door is to either upgrade your current phone or sell you a new contract and may make up a variety of reasons why your phone can not be activated. Additionally, most store workers are only trained on the few models that are on hand in the store and may not be familiar enough with the phone to activate it. The best trained people are found when you call in your phone via Verizon customer support.

Tip - If you can not locate the ESN or HEX number on a Blackberry or Palm Treo cell phone, you can find these necessary number for activation by entering *#06# on a Blackberry and on a Palm Treo you can enter ##786 or #*#786 followed by the center button. This will show you the internal ESN number / HEX number of the cell phone. *#06# works on some other phone models we have tried as well.

Verizon Wireless - Is There a Free Way Search These Cell Phone Numbers?

If you are looking to find people by number, the only way currently to do so when searching cell phone numbers is to use one of the paid reverse phone number lookup sites.  You can use Verizon Wireless to do a reverse phone search on numbers that are publicly listed, though.  Their reverse directory will provide a name and address for the phone number you are searching.

Cell phone numbers are not publicly listed information.  The phone numbers are maintained and privately held by the major cell phone companies, like Verizon Wireless.  Only recently have these companies decided to sell their data to third party sites.  These sites have enabled the general public to find out the owner information behind cell phone numbers.  The sites do have to charge a small fee for this, though.

Verizon

If you aren't having luck locating a Verizon cell phone number, you'll have to make use of one of the reverse phone directories online.  Be careful when choosing the site to do your search, though.  There are many sites online that promise to deliver information for free that will cost money in the end.  They will lure customers in with this bait and switch approach.  Some of these sites will try to capture your own personal cell phone number information in order to sell to other third party data brokers.  When it comes time for these sites to follow through on the promise of delivering a free reverse cell phone lookup report, you will be redirected to a paid site that will provide you with your information for a fee.  How current and reliable this data is can be reasonably assumed by how the site lied from the very beginning of this "free search".

A reliable site will disclose right up front that results from a search will cost a small fee.  The site will also offer you the option of doing a free preliminary search.  From this search, you will be able to verify if the phone number exists in their database and from where the phone number originates.  This way you can be fairly certain that this is the correct number you would like further information on.  From there, you are given the option of purchasing the rest of the report.  This will include the cell phone number owner's name, address, Google Maps's location of the address, cell phone service provider, and the owner's status with that provider.  Many times you can find out who owned the cell phone number prior to the current owner.

Prior to purchasing, you will be given the option of doing a one-time purchase or paying to have the ability to perform unlimited searches.  This option is the best if you plan on doing more than 4 searches in a year.  A reputable site will also have a money back guarantee and a customer service department that is prompt and efficient when responding to inquiries.

All in all, performing a Verizon Wireless reverse phone search is a fast and easy thing to do once you have found an accurate and reputable site from which to do your search on.

Verizon's Apple iPhone 4 - Is It Good For You?

Verizon's Apple iPhone 4 has been awaited for a long time in the United States as other network providers cannot seem to give consumers the kind of reliable connectivity they expect. Verizon, with its network which is rated as the most reliable in the US and which is certainly the biggest, has come up with the iPhone eager consumers have been waiting for. Before you buy this device, you should be aware that this is not an Apple 4G iPhone, but the Verizon 3G (EV-DO) phone which does not come with GSM roaming. It is a Verizon iPhone with a new antenna design to accommodate the configuration needed by Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). This phone has a CDMA radio inside it.

Although many customers are likely to flock to Verizon with the launch of the iPhone 4 the connectivity is not expected to be affected as the network is well able to cope with the influx of new subscribers. You can expect to have longer calls than you can sustain with other providers and the calls are usually perfectly connected, although there might be problems in a few areas where the signal is weak with some interference to be expected. If you are in such an area, then it is possible that some calls might be dropped. This happens more rarely than with other providers it must be said.

Verizon

With the Verizon Apple iPhone 4 you can send and receive text messages while on the phone and with the Verizon network you can add up to two people to a call, but then everyone else will be shunted to voice mail.

When you are on the Internet, the connection will stop when you receive an incoming call as these are given priority. The Internet connection can only be resumed when the call has ended and this is a drawback for some users. Another downside to the Verizon Apple iPhone 4 is that although there is international roaming it is limited to forty countries, so depending on your needs that may not be enough. If you need more capacity for roaming, Backup-Verizon will provide you with a GSM device so that you have connectivity while abroad.

Reviewers have reported that data download using the Verizon Apple iPhone 4 is slow as is upload time using the Verizon network. They have also questioned the amount of time you get when the iPhone is fully charged, as it seems to be a lot less than the 24 hours claimed.

You can expect to pay around a month to subscribe to Verizon's package and have it completely functional. You pay .99 per month for unlimited data as you do for Verizon's other mobile devices, and then you can have optional 2GB tethering data for a month. There's also the nationwide voice plan which you need to have and the cheapest with unlimited texting is per month.

There are several plans available and you will definitely be able to choose from one that will fit your budget.

Before you jump into choosing a cell phones Verizon plan; you want to first determine a couple of factors; and they are:

1. What will you be using the phone: How many minutes do you plan on using every month. It is very important that you are able to determine this answer; as you never want to go over the allotted minutes of the plan. Overage minutes can become quite costly and when you sign a contract with most cell phone companies; it is usually at least for two years.

2. Who will be using the phone: If you have more than one member in your family that you are planning on purchasing a phone; chances are you will benefit from a family plan. This will enable all of the people in your family who have phones to talk to each other without using up your minutes. Most providers will allow family time during all hours of the day. Stay away from providers who only allow family time at certain hours of the day.

3. Special Promotions: With so many cell phone providers available to choose from; stay on the look out for special cell phone promotions. Chances are many of the provider will offer absolutely free cell phones with the opening up of a new contract.

4. Customer Service: This plays a huge role in anything you do whether online or offline. Nothing is more annoying than trying to get assistance or trying to speak to someone and not being able to reach any kind of support. Stick with a reputable company and you are sure to find some of the best support to meet all your requirements.

Even Your Grandmother Can Use It - Making Cell Phones Simple

Finding a cell phone that fits your lifestyle and disposition can sometimes be challenging. The elderly, in particular, can sometimes have difficulty adapting to constantly-changing technology, even when it comes to something as relatively simple as a cell phone. Fortunately, many cell phone companies have taken steps to make technology easier for the elderly -- or anyone who isn't at home with technology -- easier to use.

Several cell phones on the market are already geared towards the elderly -- the Jitterbug, for example, or even simple, low-end phones like LG's VX4700. A particularly exciting entry into this market is the new Verizon Coupe, a cell phone that actually earned the Good Housekeeping Seal for its simplicity and ease of use.

Verizon

The Verizon Coupe

The Verizon Coupe's main draw its its simplicity -- no bewildering feature set, no complicated user interface. The Coupe's clamshell design features three large red buttons right below the display
that spell out "ICE" -- short for In Case of Emergency. These easy-to-find buttons make dialing 911 or other emergency numbers quick and easy, making it an ideal cell phone for the elderly. In addition, the Verizon Coupe has one very useful advanced feature -- voice recognition dialing.

In keeping with the "ease of use" philosophy, the Coupe's menu features large font and a simple navigation scheme. This cell phone has no Bluetooth, no camera, and no GPS, but it does come with a 500-contact phone book and a built in speakerphone -- more than adequate for the simple needs of anyone who just wants a simple cell phone. Best of all, the Coupe is a whopping with a new Verizon Wireless plan.

The Verizon 65 Plus Cell Phone Plan

To complement their new cell phone, Verizon is pushing an entirely new wireless plan geared towards the elderly. Formally known as America's Choice 65 Plus, this wireless plan comes in one of two basic forms: The 65 Plus Single Line Plan, which is 200 anytime minutes and 500 night & weekend minutes for .99 a month; and the 65 Plus Two Line Plan, which features 450 anytime minutes and 1000 night & weekend minutes, (shared between two lines) for .99 a month. Both allow unlimited calling within the Verizon network.

Like the Coupe itself, Verizon's cell phone plan is basic, no-frills, and designed to make life easy for anyone who wants a cell phone without a lot of hassle. If you have a grandparent who's still using their Eisenhower-era phone, or even just a technophobic friend who quails in terror at anything more complicated than a toaster oven, this might be a great opportunity to bring them into the twenty-first century.

Free Verizon Phones Online - Where to Find Them

Verizon Wireless tends to offer some very good cell phones at great prices, but they also tend to offer free Verizon phones for new and continuing customers. Sure, you have to sign up for service in order to get a free Verizon phone, but if you're smart about it, you can find a really great deal and even get some money back from the transaction.

Look for Incentives with Cell Phone Purchases

Verizon

There are a couple of websites that offer free phones from Verizon and other wireless carriers. In addition, these sites also offer other incentives like cash back, rebates, gift cards, free cell phone accessories, and prepaid Visa cards with your purchase of certain phones and wireless plans.

Verizon FIOS Vs ATT Uverse - How Does it Compare?

Verizon FIOS and ATT Uverse are two new avenues with the latest techniques in telecommunication, television viewing and high-speed internet management. Both providers use sophisticated mechanism to allure customers with high class multimedia viewing, telephone facilities and availability of internet. These companies are trying to attract customers with different promotional strategies so customers of satellite providers and cable connections are influenced adequately to switch over to the novel service.

Verizon is adopting the FTTP or 'fiber to the premises' technique and drawing fiber optic cable to each subscribing home. This process will cost very high because the direct connection with fiber cables will take more time and is an expensive proposition. The fact of the matter is that the company is not able to use the copper wire connection that is present there joining the field station and subscriber homes. To turn the same connection with fiber optic cable is a time taking arrangement and will eventually cost the company more to take it to the operational stage.

Verizon

On the other hand, ATT Uverse is confident to take advantage of the present fiber optic lines and copper connections joining the field station and subscriber homes for availability of the new service to customers. They are positive about their FTTN or 'fiber to the node' access system. The changeover takes relatively small time and involves lesser investment for the company as well as for the customers. The need to switch over to the FTTP access system will be a future possibility when there will be huge demand of bandwidth from customers. The required up gradation can be easily done at a future time with the additional demand from the market.

In reality Verizon is a most reliable system with several services for consumer use, which they have provided after continuous up gradation, expansions and meticulous maintenance credibility. The principal of service is quality, which they have built over the years, which have been achieved after huge expenditure on technology improvement on a regular basis with adequate use of will to offer the best service to customers. The company is not interested to compete with the satellite service providers or the cable companies on price ground. It is still to be seen whether the company fights with the competitor ATT Uverse on the same ground as both of them have adopted identical technology. The approach of ATT Uverse is to give relief to customers in rentals by way of discounts and they are continuing with their attitude of wooing subscribers by offering standard rates for services to homes. The company is able to enjoy this facility of providing reduced rates because of their current infrastructure, which they could use in the application of this new technique. The policy is welcome by customer for reduced rates of services which the company intends to exploit to their advantage at present.

It will take some time to engage the FTTP connections from Verizon FIOS because the cost of growth is very high and it has to be competed phase by phase. On the other hand, ATT Uverse has used the existing network to get more number of customers for their services at cheaper rates. The future is still a matter of debate when the market will be exploited by other entrants, but one thing is certain that the new technology has totally altered the approach to television viewing, high-speed connection on Internet and telephonic communication rates.

Try the basic - Google or Yahoo your search, all you need to do is enter the phone number that you have in the search engine's field as you might have a big chance of finding information about the phone number here.

Verizon

2. Step 2

On the other hand, if no information is provided to you by either of the sites, try using whitepages.com or anywho.com, as you may have a better chance of finding results here. Results that would include name, address, other contact numbers, and the names of the relatives living with the person who owns the number.

3. Step 3

Now if the number that you are searching for is a wireless number, the sites that I mentioned above will not be able to give you any information about it since these sites can only search public records and wireless numbers can not be found on public directories. It may just give you the city and state to use for your search.

4. Step 4

If this is the situation that you are in, then you might as well use this information to search for the person that you are looking for. There are a lot of people these days who use social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace and post their numbers on such sites, so what you can do is search for the people who lives in the city and state that you have and match the phone number that would be given to you as results. This way, you may have means of getting in touch with the person who owns the number that you are searching for. If this means too much work for you, there's another site that can do the job for you - mylife - this is the site that searches different social networking sites all at once.

Verizon iPhone 4 Cases - What Is the Best Case for You?

Verizon iPhone 4 are available on February 10th, 2011. When you buy this iPhone you also want to ensure that it is kept safely and away from damages. To safeguard the iPhone the accessory that you need is an iPhone case. However, buying a case is not just buying grocery; it needs some thoughts as well. You have to think about proper protection of the phone when you think of buying a case. The cost does not matter much as it is not a very expensive item and someone who can afford to buy an iPhone can also invest some more money to buy an accessory that will protect the iPhone.

Those who are interested in flaunting their prized possession prefer to keep the iPhone in its 'naked' state so that it is clearly visible. However, it is necessary that you take adequate precautions to protect the phone from elements like weather, dust, moisture and especially scratches.

Verizon

The iPhone is a piece of beauty as well, apart from being technologically versatile; therefore some people like to keep it without a case. Some people however would like to have a case on their iPhone with the corners exposed. There are cases available that cater to such preferences that keep the corners of the iPhone exposed. But before buying such a case you should ensure that the corners are not damaged in case the phone drops down.

iPhone cases are available in most of the iPhone stores including big departmental stores. There are four types of cases that exist in the market; these are made from leather, metal, rubber and plastic. Which one you want will depend on your personal preference.

People who are more concerned with the safety of your iPhone than displaying its cosmetic looks prefer rubber cases as these can provide adequate protection to the phone against impact. The rubber cases are also grip-friendly and do not easily slip out of the hand, the only drawback of this case is that it gets soiled in a short time and hence require frequent cleaning.

Metal cases are preferred by people who have the habit of handling things roughly or work in tough environment even though these are a bit heavy.

The plastic cases are funky and are available in variety of shades and colors.

The leather cases are a class apart and are elegantly styled and are supposed to be the best amongst all the types of cases available for iPhone. People who are more concerned about their class and personal style prefer leather iPhone case.

The back flip cases are being preferred by many iPhone owners due to its inherent advantages. There are certain conveniences that make it popular. For example when you are watching a video clip or listening to music you can place the phone upright with the help of the flip kickstand feature of the flip case; you need not use any object to make the phone stand, the phone stands on its own. This allows hands free use of the iPhone and you are free of any strains of your wrist. This type of cases gives protection to the phone on its back side and at the same time the front side of the phone remains accessible quite easily. With this convenience the back flip case has become quite popular and it seems to be the ideal case for your iPhone.

Why Verizon Fios is a Great Alternative to Cable TV

Verizon Fios is five years old this year. If you are one of the fortunate customers who have this new service, you already know about the lightning fast internet speeds, the crystal clear high definition TV signal, and the reliable local and long distance service offered through the fiber optic network. If not, why is Fios a great alternative to cable television service?

One good reason is the way in which the services offered by Verizon match up with what has been cable TV's playground for 10 years. Cable companies like Time Warner quickly deployed triple play bundles of service when people were clamoring for high speed internet in the late 1990's. These bundles allowed the customer to have all of their communication services through one company, and this led many people to completely abandon their traditional phone company.

Verizon

Now that services like Fios and U-verse from AT&T are becoming widely available, you no longer have to bundle your services through the local cable company. Competition is good for the consumer, and prices have been held down now that cable must compete with both satellite television and traditional phone companies.

Another reason why Fios is a great alternative to cable is in the platform used to deliver the services to the customer. Verizon is investing nearly billion dollars to build the first fiber to the home communications network. By building an all fiber optic network, there are virtually no bandwidth limits to hold you back. In fact, you can now get internet speeds as fast as 50 Mbps, which will allow you to download a two hour movie in just 16 minutes! Alternatively, cable downloads max out at about 15 Mbps which would mean the same movie would take 53 minutes on a cable connection.

Finally, Verizon Fios offers an enticing incentive to get you to try out the service. Promotional offers currently available include no activation charges, and 0 cash back. With specials like this available, it is easy to see why this new service is something you might want to check out as an alternative to cable TV.

How Honest Are Verizon FiOS Reviews?

There are dozen of Verizon FiOS reviews on the Internet, but how can you tell a bald faced marketing trick from a real Verizon FiOS review? The answer is complicated but here are some tips:

Longer is better - The longer the review, the better in most cases. Watch out for 'fluff' or personal anecdotes that really add little value when evaluating length. Look for errors - Blatant spelling, punctuation, and/or grammatical errors Is the Verizon FiOS review frequently updated? Only reviews that are up to date are useful and no other service evolves quite as quickly as the nation's largest consumer oriented fiber optic network. Services offered today might be part of a package tomorrow. Shopping advice - An honest review will offer a few good ideas on how to save money by bundling. Details - Look for model numbers and comparisons. Reviews that just talk about generalities and features are not as good as reviews that talk about specific channel blocks, STB model numbers, DVR features and so on. It is easy for reviewers to say that different markets have different pricing, but how hard is it to give sample pricing from one or two markets or the exact model numbers of integrated WiFi routers that come with FiOS installs? Do they offer a link to a coupon or code? Many quality product reviews on the web come with links to buy at a discounted. So do many of the not so high quality reviews on the web. If the review does not honestly look like it has a lot of useful information then don't click on it and go somewhere else. These links provide revenue to the party or parties that post them.

Use your better sense and you will find the right Verizon FiOs review for your own needs.

The Verizon FiOS Availability Map Expanding Again!

The Verizon FiOS availability map is expanding yet again!  This is a big shocker as many felt that the company might be retreating within the comparatively safe walls of its existing and lucrative markets where they can continue to clobber the competition.  Considering their raw speed advantage, unique features, green credentials, and marketing budget, staying sedentary seemed like a good idea.  That may be why certain unnamed executives and PR officials froze the Verizon FiOS availability map around in late '09/early '10.

Despite this announcement, the Verizon FiOS availability map is expanding again.  This means that more consumers will be gaining access to the nation's largest consumer oriented 100% fiber optic network as well as the amazing VoIP and IPTV based telephone and cable programming that are offered by the service.  The real question is: why now?

Verizon

There are a few possible answers:

Government grants - The FCC has recently been offering grants, loans, loan amnesty, and fast track permits for digging and trenching to broadband providers that meet certain performance benchmarks.  Since FiOS recently his almost 1 Gbps in a field test and has the fastest consumer broadband of any large carrier, they probably fit that bill already. Angry investors - With the FCC programs out there, investors might not want to see the competition encroaching on the fiber optic fueled performance without a challenge. Common sense - Some people just suggest that common sense is all that it takes to explain the situation.  Perhaps they are right and it just makes sense for the Verizon FiOS availability map to expand while the economy is recovering.

International texting is now offered by many service providers like Verizon and Sprint. Reverse Verizon Wireless Lookup

Trying to find out who owns a Verizon wireless phone number? No sweat. There's an easy way to do a reverse Verizon wireless lookup and you can do it right from your computer. In fact, you can have the name and address of the owner in just a few minutes after reading this. Learn how to do a reverse Verizon wireless lookup and get the information you need. Read on to learn how.

The first step for doing a successful reverse Verizon wireless lookup is to get the number you want to use, double check it for common errors (i.e. make sure your 1 isn't actually a sloppy 7) and then find a suitable service that can do Verizon reverse searches. There are quite a few services out there that do this but my personal favorite that always works for me is Reverse Phone Detective. After you have found those two things move on to step three.

Verizon

Now once you reach the site all you have to do is enter the number and follow the on screen prompts to get the information you want. Most sites will do a preliminary search to let you know if they have the information or not and then will lead you to an order form to get the name, address and other important details of the owner. This is a necessary step for a reverse Verizon wireless lookup since there aren't any free directories to use. You can then take the information and report and use it however you'd like.

Verizon Wireless Reverse Phone Lookup Free?

Doing a Verizon wireless reverse phone lookup is no different than doing a T mobile or Sprint reverse cell phone look up. These services are all connected and work in the same manner, so do not get hung up on which provider you are looking for.

So you want to stop that prank caller right? That's understandable, but remember to use this information for only the good. What you are going to want to do here is actually open a new browser and go to Google and see what you can find that they have indexed.

Verizon

So if you're looking for a cell phone users information then you will enter this in Google. Now I will say this method only has perhaps a 10-30% success rate, but its worth a try. Type in the number you are looking for with quotes, so it would look like "xxx-xxx-xxxx." This actually tells Google to only look for this exact number.

If you get a result you might not need a Verizon wireless reverse phone lookup or other service, because odds are if the number is listed then the users information is also. But if you came up with nothing then you are one of the unlucky ones who might need to use an actual reverse cell phone service. But don't worry, the services are instant and give you the info you are looking for right away.

I hope this information has helped you find the information you are looking for. Remember that you can always find the data you are looking for and there are different methods, you can check out a surefire way to do a Verizon wireless reverse cell phone lookup in my bio below. Good luck!

Features for FiOS Digital Voice

Verizon Corporation offers home users fiber optic service to connect to the internet, watch television and to make phone calls. While a lot of attention has been paid to the speed and quality of video over a fiber optic network, not as much attention has been paid to the quality of sound on the network. Verizon Corporation began as a phone company, Bell Atlantic, one of the "baby bells" that was created after the breakup of the monopoly Bell had on the phone industry. While the company has evolved into much more than just a phone company, they still offer users a phone subscription service. The VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) service is meant to compete directly with similar offerings from cable companies.

The Verizon home phone service can be purchased as part of package deal along with the internet and television components. Verizon's phone service is all digital. The features Verizon offers are designed to make it easy to stay connected in many different ways. While many of the features are standard for digital phone services, some of the features offered move towards a convergence of technologies with each other.

Verizon

Voice mail can be accessed online via your email. Synchronization of your online calendar to your phone Calls can be forwarded to up to three different numbers Call logs save caller ID information Block caller ID information from being sent Sort callers- sending some calls directly to voice mail while allowing other to call through. Manage your phone calls online. Using the call manage, users can check their caller ID, listen to voicemail and activate call features.

Because of the FiOs network upgrading and repairing services can be done remotely for the most part. This eliminates the need to always send a repair person out to a user's location. While the internet and TV applications are more exciting, Verizon offers a well featured phone service as well.
