No Contract Cell Phone & Unlimited Free Plan

The cell phone industry is realizing that the buying public is growing weary of service plans that hold customers to long term contracts. This is why companies like Metro PCS and Boost Mobile are starting to take a good sized bite out of the mobile marketplace. These two cell phone companies offer unlimited phone plans with no contract attached. You can cancel when you want to and you won't be penalized for doing so. They also have prepaid phone plans that start at dollars, but the per minute charge is relatively high.

Other companies like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile also have prepaid plans to appeal to those who do not want to be restricted by contracts. The industry is thus starting to move in the direction of the no contract trend in order to give customers what they want. The wireless industry is very lucrative and growing each day. It is also highly competitive. So companies, both large and small, are getting into the pay-as-you go act. In fact, T-Mobile has recently teamed up with a smaller company called Liberty International to offer customers something rather revolutionary in the wireless world - a free, no contract unlimited plan.

Verizon

If you sign up for one of their joint venture industry phone service plans, you will get your cell phone bill for free if you refer three people to the same plan. In addition to this, budding entrepreneurs can now get into the cell phone industry and make money without having to buy a franchise like a Wireless Zone from Verizon--and with no investment required.

Nextel Reverse Cell Phone Lookup - How to Lookup a Nextel Phone Number

Want to run a Nextel reverse cell phone lookup to trace a Nextel number? If you are reading this, I am guessing you are finding reliable ways to do this. Then, you should read on to know the 3 main ways that you can do it. And it works for all kinds of numbers for all providers, ie it does not have to be Nextel and works for Sprint and Verizon as well.

First way that you can use is the major search engines to conduct a Nextel reverse cell phone lookup. How do you do it? Simple - just search the full number you are trying to locate.

Verizon

The reason that this may work is that many phone owners actually use their mobile numbers to register online. It could be for online booking of movie tickets or making a purchase online for some merchandise and so on so forth.

Nextel Reverse Cell Phone Lookup - How to Lookup a Nextel Phone Number

What you hope to get is the trace or footprint left online. The thing is such details can be captured and indexed online by the search engine spiders. Alongside the phone number will be the personal details of the carrier such as his or her name and address.

Second method is by browsing through the yellow pages on the internet. They often list numbers that are in the public domain so you may be able to find what you are searching. However, very few of these online directories will carry the cellular phone numbers you need. This is because a lot of them are publicly listed landline numbers and not mobile numbers. If you intend to run a Nextel reverse cell phone lookup there, it can be a futile attempt.

The third method is using what we call a paid reverse search service. It will allow you to conduct a full Nextel reverse cell phone lookup and trace whatever number you are holding. The searches are often accurate simply because the information is compiled from the sources, the phone service providers.

So if you can spare a few dollars, go ahead and run an instant Nextel reverse cell phone lookup now to find the caller.

Golf GPS Apps For Android

OK, so you have a fancy touchscreen Smartphone with the Android operating system (perhaps a Verizon Droid or even a brand new Nexus One from Google), and you want to spice it up with a compatible golf GPS. Maybe you're already familiar with GolfShot, GolfLogix, and some of the other popular golf GPS apps available for the iPhone and BlackBerry Smartphones, and now you're wondering what the choices are for Android. The number of apps in the Android market may be kind of puny compared to the huge number of apps available for the iPhone. But there are Android golf GPS apps available. The following list of five top-notch products is a start.

GolfCard was selected by both CNN and Time magazine as the best iPhone golf app for father's day (2009). Now it's available for Android phones; both Sprint and Verizon have recently featured GolfCard in their new phone ads. It looks promising, and should probably be more popular than it already is. This inexpensive rangefinder has a database of 28,000 courses, a scorecard for multiple players, statistical analysis, and no subscription fees.

Verizon

GreenFinder, which is a popular GPS app that also works on Blackberry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile phones, can be downloaded and used five times for free. It gives you distances to the front, center, and back of the green, as well as distances to fairway hazards and the distance of your last shot. It costs less than a round of golf and there are no additional fees: you can download all the courses you need and you can even mark your own courses.

Golf GPS Apps For Android

FreeCaddie also works on Blackberry, iPhone, Windows Mobile, and Java enabled phones. The free version displays only the distances to the front, center, and back of greens. If you want the really good stuff like distances to bunkers and hazards, a shot distance function, the ability to map your own points, or statistics and scorekeeping, then you need to upgrade to FreeCaddie Pro.

Pocket Caddy from Satsports has 3D flyovers of the entire course and individual holes, distances to the front, center, and back of the green and other points of interest. It also has shot recording, statistical analysis and and a scorecard. With Pocket Caddy you can get a map of your home course included with purchase, or you can easily map courses yourself using Google Earth.

SkyDroid (which is practically free) has distances to the front, center and back of every green on the course, as well as distances to water hazards, bunkers, and other course features. It also has a satellite map view of every hole. You can track the distance of your last shot, download all the courses you want for no extra cost, and you can even use SkyDroid's Course Mapper to easily map your own courses.

The Verizon iPad 2: What You Need to Know About the Data Plans

The Verizon iPad 2 is just what many people needed to make them want to buy the new iPad. Previously, users could only choose between the Wifi-only version and the AT&T version of the iPad. Now, with more options available to them, users have taken advantage of a busted monopoly and opted for getting their data plans through Verizon.

But how does Verizon's data plans stack up to those at AT&T? Let's take a look.

Verizon

Verizon offers more options: The Verizon iPad offers two more data plan options than the AT&T version. AT&T only offers two data types: the 250 MB per month plan and the 2 GB per month plan. Verizon offers four plans:1 GB, 3 GB, 5 GB and 10 GB per month. Verizon's services are cheaper: Even though Verizon does not offer a 250 GB per month option, their higher data plans are a better deal. When you could purchase AT&T's data plan for per month for 250 MB, you can purchase Verizon's 3, 5 or 10 GB plans for only per month, which is a way better deal. The Verizon iPad does not charge an activation fee: To be fair, neither does AT&T. But knowing that Verizon doesn't charge an activation fee to begin using the data plan makes using them as a carrier that much cheaper of an option. No fee for cancelling or reactivating: You can cancel your monthly data plan at anytime without worrying about getting charged for cancelling or for reactivating. The whole idea is to not tie yourself down to a monthly data plan that doesn't fit into your budget for 12 months. Verizon accommodates that for you, as does AT&T.The only advantage of going with AT&T over Verizon is if you wanted to pay per month for 250 MB of data. Otherwise, Verizon's plans are far cheaper.

The Verizon iPad 2: What You Need to Know About the Data Plans

Verizon also has a track record of being more reliable than AT&T, at least in the United States. AT&T's GSM network is helpful for global traveling, but if you're trying to use your iPad at the ball park in the heartland of the United States, AT&T's network might let you down.

Getting the Verizon iPad doesn't cost you any more than getting an AT&T iPad. They're both more expensive than getting a Wifi-only one, but that's it. Verizon still comes in the same 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models as the AT&T one.

Also, you can choose from black and white the same way you can with the AT&T and Wifi versions. So you don't sacrifice anything at all by opting for the Verizon iPad over the AT&T one.

Verizon, Alltel Merger - More Complicated Than You Think!

The list grows of who wants the FCC and other government regulatory agencies to block the merger between Verizon Wireless and Alltel: AT&T, Rural Cellular Association*, International Brotherhood Electrical Workers, Leap Wireless, and consumer advocacy groups to name a few. Moreover, the reasons why the stakeholders don't want the merger to go through range incredible:

Against Merger:

Verizon

Leap Wireless, Centennial Communications and other groups for their roaming contracts with Alltel Wireless. Although, this hurdle is easily over-thrown since Verizon has clearly stated they will continue to abide by Alltel's roaming contracts and the FCC has the authority - and current political momentum - to pass roaming regulations. AT&T Wireless is upset mainly because they will be over-thrown as the largest cellular coverage for any one provider. Moreover, the technology Verizon Wireless and Alltel currently use, CDMA, is superior compared to GSM (i.e. analog, not digital). If the merger goes through AT&T will have more dropped calls and less of a network coverage area then Verizon Wireless - a huge market value. Furthermore, with the contract of Apple's iPhone expiring in 2010 AT&T's fears start to increase expidentionally. Some consumer advocates, such as the Consumers Union, which believe having an even larger market share would make it harder for cell phone manufacturers to disregard exclusive contracts.

Verizon, Alltel Merger - More Complicated Than You Think!

Supporting Merger:

Sprint, you will not find on the list due to the popular Sprint-Clearwire merger; nor will you find T-mobile on the list either due to their head-hunting for weak companies to buy assets from, or possible mergers of their own; although, it could be debated that the possibilities of further mergers being approved by the FCC decrease substantially if the Verizon-Alltel merger is approved. Various other organizations, such as the Women Impacting Public Policy and the Pacific Research Institute for Public Policy believe the merger would be beneficial for all persons to get access to the wireless Internet and increase new Internet technologies for faster download speeds.

Alltel has more than 13 million wireless subscribers in 34 states - most importantly, including 57 primarily rural markets not served by Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless currently has 67.2 million subscribers - if the merger is granted they will surpass AT&T's 71.4 million customers. Stanford Group Co. in a research note that the swift passage of the merger is crucial due to the shift to Democratic control; although, they commented as the timeline as "tight" they agree it's doable.

The main obstacle from a political perspective is Republic Commissioner Deborah Tate which must leave the FCC at the end of the current session of Congress if the Senate does not confirm her to another term. If she is forced-out the Commission will be split on a 2-2 vote leaving a deal breaker on the table. Although, the Democrats would be (and probably are) wiser to push for the merger, using it as a bargaining chip to require net neutralities, open devices (i.e. universal cell phones such that are in Europe) and consumer protection requirements.

However, Gig Sohn, President of Public Knowledge, makes a valid point: Sprint being in a weakened position and Verizon Wireless controlling 80 million subscriber accounts out of the 260 million wireless subscribers in existence will leave consumers with fewer choices. The merger would leave Verizon Wireless with 31% of the market, AT&T with 27%, Sprint-Nextel with 21% and T-mobile with 11%.

Here are list of recent quotes by various research organizations:

Medley Global Advisors LLC said it best, "While it is almost certain the deal will be approved, the company will likely be forced to divest overlapping markets that could range from 20-30% of Alltel's POPs." UBS Securities LLC said, "We expect Verizon Wireless to try to expedite the transaction given that an Obama administration would likely create higher hurdles." Goldman Sachs said, further cellular market consolidations "could force others" such as Sprint-Nextel and T-mobile to structure a strategic combination.

Singer Bono Private Equity Firm Saves Palm

The company made famous with Palm Pilot has seen better days. Elevation Partners, Bono's private equity company is putting 5 million cash infusion into the company just prior to them release of their latest mobile computing model device? But with Apple iPone coming out at the end of the month (June 2007) and AT&T announcing its new HBO capable video phone, one has to wonder if it will work.

Why is Bono doing this? Well one speculation is that Bono wants to have armies of people able to mobilize fast in SmartMobs. One person we interviewed said; "Bono wants to be able to disrupt events like the G-8 Summits and World Bank meetings." If Palm has devices for mobile computing and works with companies like Google then they will have incredible mobs able to create anarchy whenever they want?

Verizon

Is Singer Bono saving Palm or is he gathering more troops to disrupt our society and civilization and turn the World into a Socialist Community using mobile computing as his tool? Of course the story is that Elevation Partners is pumping in money in order to take advantage of the Foleo Sales and out do Apple iPhone and beat AT&T or Verizon to the punch? Will it work?

Singer Bono Private Equity Firm Saves Palm

That is a lot of cash; 5 million. Will it be enough to over take the market and will the other companies come up to the plate. This may cause other companies to back-off as if the competition is too great there will be less money for any one company, making the ROI unlikely. Any advertiser worth their salt will indeed go get some of this money as they blow through it.

It does appear that there is a bit of high-roller bluffing and intimidation going on here and most people realize that Bono is a lot of talk, even if the words flow together like wine and song.

Cell Phone Signal Boosters Vs Femtocells - Which One Is Right For You?

Ever missed a call because your phone was in and out of service and it only rang once before going to voicemail?  Constantly having to go to windows or outside to make a call? Tired of playing the "Can you hear me now?" game?  With more and more people opting to do away with their landline, reliable call quality and carrier service has never been more important.  So what can you do to improve your reception and stop dropping calls?

The most popular options are cell phone signal boosters and Femtocells.  Without going into too much detail, by the end of this article you should have enough information to decide which one is right for you.

Verizon

Let us start by defining the two technologies.  Most wireless cell phone signal boosters (also called amplifiers and repeaters) work by capturing the signal outside, amplifying it, and then redistributing it inside.  This is done through 3 major pieces: an outside antenna (either directional or omni-directional), the amplifier, and the inside antenna (either directional or omni-directional).  The outside signal can be weak or strong, but must be present in order for the booster to operate properly.  In general, the weaker the signal outside, the more gain the amplifier needs to provide in order to offer adequate coverage inside.  Femtocells are basically miniature cell phone towers, about the size of a wireless router, that are provided by your wireless carrier and are installed in your home to provide coverage of up to a 40' radius.  They are essentially a Wi-Fi router for cellular and PCS frequencies.  Information is transmitted wirelessly from your phone to the femtocell, then from the femtocell to the carrier via your broadband internet connection.

Cell Phone Signal Boosters Vs Femtocells - Which One Is Right For You?

Now let's get down to the purpose of this article.  The easiest way to decide which product is right for you is to take a look at the comparisons below.

Connectivity

Booster:  Dual Band models work with virtually all carriers except Nextel and other iDEN push-to-talk networks, although there are boosters made specifically for Nextel. Femtocell:  Only works with one specific service provider.  Ex. You are a Verizon Wireless subscriber. Provided there is little coverage by all carriers in your current location, installing a Verizon Network Extender will help you out but don't plan on your AT&T friends raving about excellent coverage when they stop over to watch the game.

Data

Booster: Dual Band models work with data plans for all carriers using 850/1900 MHz for their data.  This is most carriers, but does not include T-Mobile 3G Femtocell:  Supported data rates vary by carrier. Some femtocells do not support data at all.  Ex.  Verizon's Network Extender currently only supports 1X CDMA, not EVDO or 3G.  Generation 1 of Sprint's Airwave only supports 1X CDMA, not EVDO or 3G.  AT&T's microcell supports 3G data, but only works with 3G phones.

Multiple Users

Booster:  Most dual band wireless models support more than a handful of users so everyone can be talking or surfing at the same time. Femtocell:  Depends on the carrier.  Sprint's AIRWAVE allows up to 3 simultaneous users. Verizon's Network Extender supports up to 3 simultaneous users. AT&T's Microcell supports up to 4 simultaneous users.

Bandwidth

Booster:  N/A Femtocell:  Prepare to allot anywhere from 40Kbps to 300kbps of your upload and download bandwidth depending  on the number of active calls / data sessions.

Cost

Booster:  Basic Dual Band home coverage kits  can start as low as 5    Femtocell:  Anywhere ranging from free  (with a subscription to unlimited calling), to with a /mo fee, to a 0 one time fee.

Installation

Booster:  Installation of most cell phone signal boosters can be completed in anywhere from 1  to 4 hrs..  Mounting the outside antenna, mounting the inside antenna and running the cabling between everything is the most time consuming.  Amplifier and internal antenna placement are completely flexible. Femtocell:  Physically easier to install - requiring just a simple Ethernet connection to your existing router. However, most require a GPS lock in order to activate and confirm location, so it is advised to install next to a window.  However, it is also advised that they be placed in a central location for best coverage.  Raise your hand if you have windows located in the center of your home?

Boot Up Time

Booster:     N/A - once the amplifier is powered on you can make and receive calls. Femtocell:  Some femtocells require up to 60 minutes to set up and stabilize for the first time.  Subsequent power cycles take 10-15 minutes to stabilize.

Call Hand-Off

Booster:  N/A - a cell phone signal booster is an extension of the outside tower so you are essentially already connected to it when making and receiving calls.  There is no hand-off to take place.  If you are connected to a tower as you're driving up your street, you'll be connected to the same tower once in your home (just with a stronger signal) Femtocell:  Seamless call transfer to the tower as you leave the femtocell coverage area, but you're going to have to hang up and re-dial if you're entering the coverage area.

In summary, if you live in an area with absolutely no cell coverage, only affiliate with people who are using the same carrier as you, don't mind giving up some of your already-paid-for broadband bandwidth, will never have a need for 3 or more people to be on the phone at the same time and don't mind saying "I'll have to call you back, I'm at home now" then a femtocell might just be the solution for you.  However, if you want to provide great cell and data coverage to just about anyone who enters your home (regardless of carrier), value your already precious bandwidth, and don't mind rolling up your sleeves for a few hours to do the installation, then an installed Cell Phone Signal Booster may be the right solution for you.

Verizon Wireless Reverse Phone Search - Looking Up Verizon Numbers in Reverse Search

Verizon Wireless reverse phone search can help you identify unknown numbers that show up on your missed call list. Most of the information surrounding those unknown phone numbers can be obtained through search engines or by using the Verizon Reverse Lookup site, however, the information is purely limited to numbers that are can be viewed by the public. Other types of numbers are listed as private numbers or cell numbers. As a rule, it is illegal for mobile phone wireless providers to provide phone directories to the public. The United States Congress is in the process of passing a law prohibiting any type of mobile phone directories to be created or made available. As of the moment, the only way to find people by phone no. is through private reverse search sites.

Finding a Verizon Number Online

Verizon

There are other ways of locating a Verizon phone no. even without an official Verizon directory on hand. You would need to do extra research online though to find these sites. For example, you can use sites like Reverse Phone Detective to check whether the number belongs to a Verizon customer. This site provides very accurate search results. It also offers one-time search options, money-back guarantee, and friendly customer service. This site has the most up to date database for cellular numbers. You can even conduct a preliminary search on the site for free. If you would want further information such as complete address, complete name of the owner, business, and other information, you would need to pay a certain fee.

Verizon Wireless Reverse Phone Search - Looking Up Verizon Numbers in Reverse Search

When looking up for third-party providers, makes sure to exercise caution. Because of the abundance of these providers online, the reliability and the cost can vary significantly. In addition, some of these "free cell phone lookup sites" are really frauds. What they do is they sell your mobile number and information to data brokers once you have signed up in their database. In the end, they will just redirect you to paid cell phone lookup sites.

Conducting a Verizon Wireless reverse phone search is not that hard once you can find reliable sites that can achieve the results you want.

Major Challenges Facing Nonprofits

Information abstracted from regional and national studies concerning the challenges facing nonprofits indicates that several issues are shared as concerns for nonprofit leaders. Board development and fundraising and are the main issues for nonprofits with a secondary emphasis on difficulties related to improving operations and more effectively managing resources.

EMERGENT THEMES

Verizon

Some fundamental concerns were commonly identified in the studies, which surveyed nonprofit executive directors and board members. Five major themes clearly emerged from the various reports' inventories of issues. These suggest areas of the most pressing needs as indicated by nonprofit leaders:

Major Challenges Facing Nonprofits

1. Board Development - Building an active and strategically oriented board of directors was the most frequent concern. Specific issues identified were:

· Recruiting high-impact board members

· Cultivating a dynamic and effective culture among board members

· Fostering a strategic orientation for boards

2. Marketing/Fundraising - Developing effective marketing programs to recruit and retain donors was also a high priority. In particular, respondents were concerned about:

· Applying marketing/communications techniques to donor contact activities

· Expanding their current donor base

· Increasing donations from current donors as well as enhancing donor loyalty and retention

3. Information Management - Utilizing effective information management for measuring and evaluating operations and programs was also very important.

· Establishing a clear set of quality benchmarks for assessing services

· Using IT to reduce costs and create value

· Evaluating programs/services against key performance measures

· Establishing a better model for measuring and reporting outcomes

· Measuring the real benefit of development and marketing investments

· Devising a consistent approach for measuring organizational performance and impact

4. Human Resources - Attracting, developing and retaining productive staff and volunteers was a critical concern:

· Attracting and retaining skilled staff

· Attracting skilled, motivated volunteers

· Developing a leadership transition and succession plan

· Improving workforce performance

· Providing ongoing training and skill building

5. Collaboration - Pursuing constructive alliances, partnerships, and mergers was also a significant issue.

· Developing collaborative partnerships with public sector agencies, including government

· Forging collaborative partnerships with the private sector

· Pursuing mergers with overlapping services/agencies

Extrapolating from these topics, a sixth theme is implied as a supplementary concern:

6. Business Proficiency - the need to embrace the business skills and processes essential to effectively addressing the needs identified in these five major themes.

EXTERNAL INFLUENCES

Several changes in the operating environment of the nonprofit sector are impacting leaders' perceptions of the issues facing them.

Funding Challenges - Many nonprofit organizations are simultaneously facing a rapidly changing funding environment and a steadily rising need for services from the communities they serve. Reduced or tightly focused government funding is placing great pressure on the sector, which has also experienced a proliferation of new nonprofits during the past decade, thus increasing the competition for a smaller pool of funds. Countless nonprofit organizations are feeling the impact of federal reductions to their core funding streams at the same time foundation endowments and giving are down and many state and municipal governments are experiencing deficits that are reflected in reductions in spending on social programs.

Accountability Pressures - As a result of a few high profile cases, nonprofits are facing powerful accountability pressures to provide measurable proof that the services they provide have an impact on the communities and populations they target. Funders and the public want to know in detail if the funded organization is effective in doing what it sets out to do and if it is also efficient at what it does. While gaining and keeping the pubic trust is absolutely essential, calls for accountability can lead nonprofits to spend more time searching for financial support and accounting for funded task performance in order to continue receiving funding from the source. This can cause nonprofits to be more business-like but may also draw attention from responding in innovative or distinctive ways to community and/or client needs.

Collaboration Fascination - Government and foundation funders are increasingly requiring the use of interorganizational relationships such as collaboration, partnerships, and alliances as an element of funded projects. However, while there is a growing body of knowledge about the factors that support effective negotiation and integration of strategic partnerships, much less is known about the actual outcomes nonprofits experience and how these compare to expected outcomes. Many nonprofits expend large amounts of organizational energy for questionable returns while pursuing interorganizational relationships. Nonprofits often encounter major barriers to collaboration, such as autonomy issues and "turfism," conflicting organizational cultures, and trust-building among organizations.

ADAPTIVE REPERCUSSIONS

Responding to these difficult circumstances necessitates adaptations that involve more than merely developing additional financial support.

Leadership Challenges - The health of the nonprofit sector depends on the quality of its executive leadership. Agency leadership, including board members, must be able to raise fundamental questions related to strategy, mission, and accountability, as well as the roles that their organizations play within their communities. For many nonprofits, being responsive to changes in the environment means a heighten need to:

· Determine the most effective way to serve a client population that may be growing or changing;

· Develop strategies and processes to access and manage new funding streams;

· Decide where and how to make budget cuts;

· Develop technology to capture information for reporting and billing;

· Manage cash flow challenges;

· Consider new partnerships, explore possible collaborations, and consider mergers or acquisitions.

Given the challenging changes in the typical nonprofit's task environment, effective board leadership becomes particularly crucial. The issues facing the nonprofit sector underscore the need for responsive, skilled and effective board leadership in maintaining and improving the quality of organizational performance. It is appropriate that nonprofit boards take a leadership role in assisting agency management on critical issues such as mission definition and strategic planning, legal compliance and conflicts of interest, oversight of agency financial management, resource development, establishing interorganizational collaborations, cultivating community relationships, and opportunities for capacity-building training.

Management Challenges - Nonprofit managers are challenged to perform multiple functions and roles as they guide their organizations through today's complex environment. They must be highly skilled not only in the technical aspects of their organizations' mission, but also in management areas such as finance, human resources, information technology, program evaluation, resource development, and many other management responsibilities. Also, an organization's human resources represent the collective capabilities and experiences of its people. Unfortunately, nonprofit organizations are often challenged when it comes to managing staff talent actively. Attracting and retaining skilled staff as well as heightened accountability and competition create a need to develop the specialized business skills and processes that are required of for-profit organizations. Consequently, like their counterparts in the business world, nonprofit managers need to continuously seek out and utilize the latest methods and techniques of organizational management and leadership.

IMPLICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

Restating the six identified needs as positive attributes indicates that resilient nonprofits will have:

1. A strong governance structure and visionary board members with the right skills and access to resources.

2. Sufficient and flexible funding.

3. A defined set of best practices in service and management functions and an effective way to measure performance against these benchmarks.

4. A skilled workforce operating in a culture that facilitates opportunities for innovation and growth.

5. Effective community relationships that include collaborative partnerships with other providers, funders and other organizations and systems.

6. Management capacity to support services, including accounting, human resources, technology and marketing/development functions.

A SEVEN-STEP PRESCRIPTION

Seen from this perspective, there are seven actions that nonprofits can take to achieve these characteristics and address the challenges they face:

1. Undertake an organizational assessment and create a strategic plan to address any capacity deficits.

2. Engage board members to ensure quality governance structures, practices and oversight.

3. Embrace and adopt sound marketing and communications strategies.

4. Build business skill sets and integrate basic business practices and tools.

5. Identify and implement appropriate metrics and make better use of technology to enable evaluation of the success and impact of delivery of services and programs as well as internal operations.

6. Institute progressive human resource practices focusing on skills and team building.

7. Explore and adopt new collaborative business models with complementary organizations.

Reverse Phone Lookup - 1,220,000 People Did it in April - Are You Using an Accurate Tool? Important!

I knew that a lot of people do Reverse Phone Lookup every day. But I had no idea that that many people do it every day. According to Google, 1,220,000 (that is 1.2 million people) searched for the term reverse phone lookup in April of 2009. That is a staggering 40,000 people a day. Isn't that unbelievable?

Cheating Spouses, Prank Callers etc.

Verizon

One wonders why so many people are doing reverse cell phone searches. Apparently, a very common reason is cheating spouses, and another is prank callers, and another is parents checking on who their children are speaking to.

Reverse Phone Lookup - 1,220,000 People Did it in April - Are You Using an Accurate Tool? Important!

Important - Irrespective of what the reason is, you must use an accurate tool!

You may have already seen that there are dozens, if not hundreds of reverse cell phone number lookup tools out there. Some are good and most are not (just like everything else). It is extremely important that you choose an accurate web service for this job. Not all databases contain 100% accurate data, there's a reason for that.

There is no national mobile number database!

Unfortunately that is the truth. Cellular numbers are considered personal information and that's why they're not published on public phone directories. This is the reason why you haven't seen a Verizon or T-mobile phone book. Because there is no central database containing all the cell numbers in the USA, none of the private databases maintained by these private companies are 100% complete.

In other words, they don't have all the mobile phone numbers in the USA (which is over 250 million numbers). And some of them have very much outdated databases. What this means is that when you do a reverse telephone lookup, you will get very inaccurate results e.g. previous owner's name and address instead of the current owners.

This is why it is extremely important that you pick an accurate database for your reverse cell phone lookup.

How to Flash Your Cell Phone

If you are like most people today you have a cell phone and like most of us you don't stick with the same carrier forever. When you change carriers you need a phone that will work on their network so you have two choices, buy a phone through your new carrier and get locked into a one or two year contract or use your current phone on their network. For most people the cheapest and best solution is to use your current phone. Thus phone Flashing. Flashing is the process of loading Carrier specific files to handsets from other carriers in order to connect the phone to the new carrier.

What do I Need to Flash My Phone?

Verizon

1.) Flashing software (which you can download)
2.) A USB cable for the phone you're flashing
3.) A computer with Windows 2000 or Newer, a USB Port, 800Mhz+, 256MB RAM
4.) A CDMA cell phone (see below)

How to Flash Your Cell Phone

How Difficult is it ?

There are a number of good downloadable cell phone flashing programs out there that will guide you through reprogramming your cell phone to use on many other carriers. If you have basic computer knowledge and a few simple cables almost anyone can Flash or reprogram a cell phone. To begin you will need a Flashing program. Onceyou have the flashing software. Search for the instructions or read me docs with your program and follow them carefully. Look for instruction on your specific phone. This will give you a good overview of what you will be doing. You should be able to complete the process in about ten to fifteen minutes once setup. You will be Flashing a CDMA phone to a CDMA carrier. See a description of the two major networks below.

The Networks

In addition to the list above you will need an account with the CDMA carrier you wish to sign up with. There are two major networks for cell phone carriers. They are GSM or Global System for Mobile Communications. Examples are AT&T, T-Mobile The second CDMA or Code Division Multiple Access.Examples are Qwest, Metro, Sprint and Verizon. These are technologies which essentially allow a mobile device to communicate with a mobile communications network.

How Good Is The Carrier I am Flashing To?

As with most great deals you probable heard about a better carrier through a friend or co-worker. But before you change carriers you should make sure the coverage you are going to is at least as good as your current provider. One way of doing that is compare your current coverage with your new carrier at cellreception.com. Here you can enter in your zip code and get ratings for all carriers in your area along with comments from others using the different cellular services.

The Cheapest Cell Phone Plans

So you're in the market for a new cell phone plan. You start your search online to give you an idea on wireless phone service prices. Free cell phones, the lowest rates, compare prices. Starting to look familiar?

Free cell phone offers and lower rate plans are indeed enticing, but are they really the cheapest cell phone plans? To say they have the cheapest service is also to say they know your calling habits. There is a little more to this than cents per minute.

Verizon

Isn't the cheapest cell phone plan the one with the smallest bill at the end of each month? It makes sense to me. So how do you find the best plan with the lowest rates that will leave you with a smaller monthly bill?

The Cheapest Cell Phone Plans

Cell phone plans come in two forms. Prepaid, otherwise known as pay as you go, and regular monthly, or post paid plans. When deciding which is best for you, think about how much you'll use the cellular service each month.

Prepaid cell phone plans are great if you will not be using the service very often. If you use your cell phone for emergencies only, you'll benefit from pay as you go since it doesn't cost much to add minutes to your prepaid cell phone and you won't need to top up again for awhile.

Monthly plans are best if you are going to use your service fairly often, since many cell phone services offer unlimited nights and weekends, free mobile to mobile, and a healthy amount of anytime minutes. You can even get a free cell phone with a service agreement.

The secret formula to getting the cheapest cell phone plan is figuring in your usage, plus rates, plus incentives. Incentives being the freebies like free cell phones or free minutes. Find a healthy balance of all three factors, and you'll have your cheapest plan.

Can You Trace Mobile Phone Numbers For Free?

It is not easy to trace a mobile phone number unlike landlines. You cannot simply dial Information and inquire about a mobile phone number as they are usually not listed in directories. Lately, you can call and ask a company for a trace of a phone number but a fee will be charged for the service or search. However, not much information can be given. Many methods can be used at the moment to trace a mobile phone number for free.

Verizon

You can try inputting the entire number with the area code on the search site. If that yields an overwhelming quantity of search results, then the number can be inputted by placing the main number in quotations except the area code such as: 555 "555 5555". Another way to narrow down the search is to use the state or city of the area code of the mobile phone number, if that is known.

The Original Old Fashion Paczki Recipe

This is the original recipe for making paczki that was brought from Europe by my wife's grandmother when she first arrived at Ellis Island and the onward to Pennsylvania where she finally settled.

Just how old this recipe really is I have no idea but the only thing I know is how good the paczki's are.

Verizon

You must follow this recipe exactly or it will not work well, I know, I have tried to create some shortcuts that were ok but not as good.

The Original Old Fashion Paczki Recipe

This recipe yields 4dozen of the most delicious punczki that you ever had.

Remember all ingredients should be room temperature.

1.Disolve:

¾ ounce yeast in ¼ cup warm water

warm ½ quart milk

add to the yeast and warm milk 3 cups flour and let rise for about ½ hour to create what is called a sponge.

2.Put together:

½ quart warm milk

¼ lb. Butter

2 tablespoons shortening

½ cup sugar

2 tablespoons whiskey

3.Mix steps 1 and 2 with 6 eggs, pinch of salt, 9 cups flour and mix until you get a really good textured dough.

Let the dough rise until double in size, cut the dough into 2 ounce pieces and form balls.

Place the dough balls on a well oiled flat pan, let them rise for about ½ hour to about ¾ hour.

Fry dough balls in 350 degree oil until well browned on both sides then put them on a brown paper bag to drain the oil form frying.

Let cool for a while and fill using a pastry bag with a tip that has a whole about the size of a pencil, roll in sugar or 10x sugar and enjoy with a hot cup of coffee.

You can fill them with prune leckvar or any jellies that you like.

Things to Do in VA Beach

There is a lot to do in Virginia Beach! When I first visited this huge city it was a little uncomfortable trying to find my way around. After living here (and playing here) for many years, I thought it would be helpful to write an article that provided a few pieces of advice for others who may be new to the area like I once was.

The first thing that needs to be mentioned in any article about things to do in Virginia Beach, is the Ocean front! Virginia Beach has the largest pleasure beach in the entire world according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The entire boardwalk along the beach is full of fun stuff to do on a summer day! The shopping includes dozens of gift shops and clothing stores for souvenir collecting if you are looking to take something home with you after your trip.

Verizon

In addition to the shopping, there is an enormous outdoor concert hall called the Verizon Amphitheater. Located right on the beach, famous bands and musicians come year round for shows that attendees are likely to never forget, right on the sand! The warm Atlantic Ocean atmosphere makes for a concert experience like few other venues can offer.

Things to Do in VA Beach

While in Virginia Beach, you will also want to check out a few of the many malls the city has to offer. The largest of which is the Lynnhaven Mall, just off of the Lynnhaven Parkway. This mall includes everything you would expect from a metropolitan mall, such as a giant AMC movie theater, as well as Dick's Sporting Good's, JCPenny's, and Macy's department stores. The mall is two stories tall, with the second floor focusing mainly on the food court that offers a variety of options that allow anyone in your party to eat exactly what they crave.

Virginia Beach is also home to three major military bases which makes it's large population of nearly half a million people constantly changing. Locals in the area are strong supporters of our military personnel, because much of the population consists of these individuals. Chances are you will run into a military family or two while visiting the beach this summer!

When it comes right down to it, the best way to find things to do in Virginia Beach is to get out there and explore the city. I could give you recommendation after recommendation, but the things you will always remember and enjoy the most are the things you stumble upon with your loved ones while out on the town. I would encourage you to get to know this great city the same way I did; get out of the house and see it for yourself!

The Ice Cream Sandwich Vs Gingerbread

Released on November 17 2011, the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) is set to be the next big thing in the world of Android operating systems, bringing a completely different look to Android. The ICS (Android Version 4.0) promises to be compatible with almost every Android device.

The ICS claims to be very easy to use and it certainly does have some great navigation tools and makes searching for apps and the like on your hand set so much easier, but the ICS is not the only 'next big thing' to hit the market and claim to change the ever-popular Android operating systems, because Google's Gingerbread has also recently been launched and threatens to knock the ICS off one of the highest spots on the consumer market.

Verizon

After having a detailed look at both the Ice Cream Sandwich and the Gingerbread systems I am tending to swing towards the ICS mainly because it is much easier to use and is more widely available.

The Ice Cream Sandwich Vs Gingerbread

Similarities

There are a lot of similarities between the two operating systems and although this is good in some respects, it can make it hard for the consumers to decide which one is better for them.

At the moment, both of the Android operating systems seem to work well when it comes to working hard to save your battery by closing down any apps that are running in the background and they both have a newer, faster and better keyboard that works even harder to improve the predictive text function so you don't accidentally type a word that could change the whole context of the conversation and confuse things.

There does seem to be one thing that the Gingerbread is slightly better at than the ICS and that is helping you to save the battery. It will work out for you what apps use the most battery power and then its up to you to decide whether or not you want to stick with them and although this could be a good thing, it seems to me the Gingerbread system is shouting 'Look what I can do!' and using up more memory when the ICS just gets on and does its job.

Sorry, unavailable

While the ICS is available on most new handsets and can be downloaded on other older handsets, the Gingerbread operating system is not as widely available and those with HTC, Samsung and some Sony devices are still waiting to use this system that has been available for months and well before the Ice Cream Sandwich made its appearance on the market in November 2011, and users of the LG, Motorola and Samsung phones are still waiting for an upgrade while the ICS continues to flourish.

Although the Gingerbread operating system does work well and makes an effort to save battery power, it's availability is lacking and by the time the makers decide to make it more widely available, the Ice Cream Sandwich would have found its way to many more mobile devices and made even greater improvements while the main ingredients are still being added to the Gingerbread.

How to Find a Person's Cell Phone Number

The reason you can't lookup a person's cell phone number in your local regular phone book is because cell phone numbers are protected by privacy laws and are not released to any public phone directories.

The good news is that you can actually find someone's cell phone number online by trying a few different techniques and searching through the right websites.

Verizon

Find a person's cell phone number the free way.

How to Find a Person's Cell Phone Number

Free cell phone number directories do not exist so don't even waste your time searching Google looking for a place to lookup a cell phone number for free.

However you can search Google for a person's phone number. It's possible your friend may have listed their number on their MySpace or Facebook profile. It's is also not uncommon for someone to leave a contact number as a comment on a friend's profile page.

Also Many business and professionals have their contact information listed online. It would be dumb for a business not to post their most important people's contacts and phone numbers online.

I even found my own personal cell phone number posted on someone's resume as a reference!

So instead of searching for a free cell phone book, try searching your friend's name directly.

Not only is this method time consuming and unreliable. The truth is, most people will not have their phone number posted to the public online. This only works best when searching for companies and professionals.

Find a person's cell phone number the easy way.

The easiest and most reliable way to lookup a person's cell phone number online is to go through a private cellular phone directory or confidential data broker.

Once restricted to law enforcement and licensed investigators, only in recent years have these sites opened up for anyone to use. There are still many private investigative services charging up to 0 for a single cell phone number listing.

The best news is that today you can lookup anyone's phone number including unlisted and cellular phone numbers. You will still have to pay a small fee, around . But this is surely not a problem if you've already wasted two hours searching Google and just need an answer. Hopefully, you found this article first so you can save yourself valuable time and energy.

The awesome part about sites like Cell Phone Registry is that you can also get access to public records for instant background checks. It's also feels cool to have access to something your friend's do not even know about. It's like you are a private investigator of your own.

How to Choose Between a Motorola MC55 and MC75 Handheld Device

I'm often asked for recommendations on mobile devices for proof of delivery applications and handheld data collection. If you're looking at Motorola devices, most people need help choosing between MC55, MC75 and MC9090 devices.

This article will explain what you should consider when choosing mobile devices and will highlight real-life customer examples for field data capture and proof of delivery applications.

Verizon

Before we start with criteria, it is important to understand what features you need today as well as in the future. With rugged devices, once you purchase the device, you cannot go back and add hardware options like a camera, GPS or Bluetooth. The devices we will discuss are:
MC9090 (MC909x) - these are the largest and most rugged of the 3 models. They are supported on all carrriers (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile) and have the broadest range of hardware options. These are the most expensive devices. MC75 - these are mid-sized devices that Motorola targets for proof of delivery, field data capture and barcode solutions. MC55 - this is the newest member of the family, has a slightly lower level of rugged design and size than MC75's. It is the least expensive.
Questions and Criteria

How to Choose Between a Motorola MC55 and MC75 Handheld Device

You should narrow your hardware choice by asking the following questions.

Do you need cellular data? If so, what cellular carrier do you use and do you know what the data coverage is in your territories?
The reason for this is simple - some territories like the North East are completely owned by a carrier (Verizon). If someone wants T-Mobile or AT&T coverage, they need to check or consider changing carriers. The MC55 is not currently supported on Verizon, so the choice is between an MC75 and MC9000. All devices support GSM networks (e.g. T-Mobile and AT&T). Do you want want device to cover international or outside of North America? If so, you will need to only consider GSM.
If you need cellular data, are you going to do anything that requires 3G/3.5G or faster networking?
Most customers don't know the answer to this but the question becomes more clear if you are: Taking pictures - picture size can be adjusted on the mobile device, but a reasonable quality color picture would be approximately 1Mb or larger. Downloading large files, such as site plans, MSDS sheets or merchandising plan-o-grams for proof of delivery apps.

The MC55 is targeted at basic route accounting users. The MC55 vehicle cradle does not have a built-in serial port. Examples of where this applies are: serial cable connection to the vehicle GPS or JBus (vehicle diagnostics), fuel delivery meters or external communication devices. The MC75 and MC9000 vehicle cradles have a built-in serial port. Their cradle is more expensive than the MC55 cradle by approximately 0-200.
Do you need barcode scanning?
All devices support barcode scanning. The only decision is whether you need 1D/2D or long-range. 2D scanners can be helpful if you have barcodes that may get dirty or damaged. Examples of this include plant nurseries where 2D barcodes may be easier to read due to dirt on the barcode label. Long range scanners can scan barcodes up to 40' away. Long range scanners are only available on the MC909x platform. Examples of long range scanning would be scanning the barcode at the top of a warehouse rack from a forklift.
Do you need RFID?
If you need RFID, your only option is an MC9090. Note that RFID enabled devices are significantly more expensive.
Do you have specific ruggedness requirements? Will you be dealing with harsh environments?
The MC9000 is the most rugged device. It has the best drop spec (6' to concrete) and the best IP (intrusion protection) rating. The MC75 is plenty rugged and designed for field delivery applications (5' to concrete). The MC55 is close to, but not as rugged as the MC75. It is designed for the field but not for harsh environments. Examples of harsher environments would be where you work outside in the rain or dirt - such as oil field services, agriculture or bulk product delivery such as fuel, lubes, chemicals or fertilizer to tanks outside.
What size keypad do you need? What type of input will the keypad be used for? Do you need a pistol grip?
The MC55 and MC75 both have similar sized keypads. They are larger than a BlackBerry but the size of the device shell is fixed. The MC9000 comes in a short version (MC9090S), a long version (MC9090K) and a gun/pistol grip (MC9090G). The keypads on MC9000's are larger than the MC75 or MC55. If drivers use gloves (such as fuel delivery) then it would be worth comparing the MC9000 to the MC75. If you perform a lot of scanning, you should consider a pistol grip, which is only available on the MC9000.

So which device is right for you? The following highlights examples of using each type of device.

MC9090 - Bulk bleach manufacturer with 8 plants in 5 states. This customer receives bleach in rail cars and then distributes to pool supply companies, municipal water treatment facilities, paper manufacturers, etc. The bleach is loaded at the plant and the driver starts their day by scanning a barcode label on the truck (tractor), trailer and delivery ticket. They weigh the truck on an industrial truck scale and wirelessly receive the truck weight to calculate the volume of product on the truck. The driver makes deliveries to a set of customers and scans the delivery ticket, product, etc and records product quantities in each tank. The customer signs the device for proof of delivery and then prints a receipt on mobile Zebra RW420 printers. When drivers return to the plant, the driver scans and weighs again to calculate remaining volume. Once at the plant, deliveries are sent wirelessly to the goRoam server for processing and export for invoicing.
This customer selected MC9000's because they needed the most rugged device, a large numeric keypad, a larger battery to power the wifi since they use wifi for roaming throughout the plant to load products, and because they wanted a larger device so it was easier for the driver to keep track of it.
MC75 - HazMat pickup and disposal for large retailers, oil change shops, car dealers, etc. across 30 states. These drivers receive routes/stops through cellular communications while on the road. The drivers go to each stop and pickup one or many HazMat containers (waste oil, paint, chemicals, etc.). They place a barcode on the container (by hazmat product type) and record the contents of each container. This can involve a reasonable amount of data capture through the touch-screen on the handheld device as they have to complete different mobile forms depending on the pickup. Once complete, the customer signs for electronic signature capture/proof of pickup.
This customer selected the MC75 because they wanted a mid-sized device that would be easy for the driver to carry but would be rugged enough to be around hazardous materials and heavier equipment that might bang around or have the device dropped. They needed 3G network speeds to facilitate image capture. GPS is done on the vehicle but can also be captured on the handheld.
MC55 - Door-to-door surveys and canvassing on a large scale. This customer canvasses homeowners and businesses. They complete field data surveys that may contain 300-750 questions, although not all are required to be answered. When a homeowner or business needs a survey completed, the field personnel scan a barcode and take 1 or more high-quality pictures per site. They take a GPS reading and possibly make a drawing on the device to show the site. Once complete, the homeowner signs the device for proof of delivery/electronic signature capture and a receipt is automatically emailed.
This customer evaluated the MC55 and MC75, but selected the MC55 because it was less expensive. They determined they did not need the ruggedness of the MC75 or the 3G network speed since the pictures would queue and sync in the background. They wanted the smallest/lightest device since the device would be carried all day by the field personnel.

Ice Fishing Hut Plans

You might be making ice fishing hut plans to have your shelter custom made, or perhaps you will be building it yourself. Either way there are many things to consider for inclusion in your plans.

If you're building your shelter from your own plans, make sure you aren't attempting something too complicated. The best idea is to keep it simple and then add to it as you go along. Focus on finding materials that are strong, durable and safe and work out the size you will need for the number of people and amount of equipment you want to cover.

Verizon

It is important to also ensure there will be enough head space for everyone. Think about including allowances for storing tackle boxes, hanging bags and displaying licenses. The main things you need are your timber, strong brackets and nails. When you have devised the size of the shelter you can use your ice fishing hut plans to work out exactly how much of each material you require.

Ice Fishing Hut Plans

Many fishermen have reportedly built their own collapsible huts for under . If you can afford to lash out and buy your own, the hut plans available are much more lavish. They may include a built in source of heating, seats, shelving and adjustable ventilation holes. Some luxury models even have underwater cameras installed! The sky is the limit if you have the money to burn.

Heating an ice fishing hut is usually done using a propane or fuel tank that can be mounted to the trailer or sled. Wood stoves are also common, but you will need to collect wood to keep them burning. The extra benefit of heating aside from keeping cozy and warm is that it prevents the ice from freezing over when you are fishing.

Padded benches and electric lights are a great investment to increase the comfort of your fishing trips. The whole family can have some fun if it's more homely inside, so consider this when making your ice fishing hut plans. Another option is to rent a few different huts to try so you have more experience with them before designing your own.

Cellphone Search

If you have ever wondered how a cellphone search was done, I can tell you it's a very simple thing. All you need to learn is where to perform your searches and why. That is if you want a consistent method that will work 99% of the time.

If you know nothing before hand about how to reverse lookup wireless numbers, the first thing you need to understand is that mobile numbers are not public information. They are still considered private, so the only way you'll be able to find identifying information behind these numbers is by sheer luck.

Verizon

You may read that you can possibly find the owner information in connection with the number by searching Google or some other online search engine. But experience has taught me, and I can pretty much guarantee will teach you, that it's pretty close to impossible.

Cellphone Search

Numbers that are considered private and not a matter of public record are just not going to be easy to find using free methods. A few years ago, you couldn't even obtain results behind cellphone searches for any price.

What changed is that the major mobile phone carriers decided to sell this information to third party data brokers. These brokers, known as reverse cell phone directories, are the resource now available to the public.

For a fee that is about equal to that of a large pepperoni pizza, you can found out pretty much all want to know about anybody with just a mobile number in your hand. Just make sure to use a cellphone search directory that allows you to search for free, doesn't require you to enter your personal information in exchange for results, and stands behind the integrity of their data with a full 60-day money back guarantee. That really is all there is to it.

How To Download Music From Computer To Cell Phone

Downloading music from your PC's music collection is pretty easy. All you have to do is drag and drop songs from your PC onto a memory card that's then installed in the phone. All the phones connect to PC USB cable. However only Sprint / Nextel and Amp'd phones appear as a lettered drive onto which you can drag and drop music files.

Not everything on your PC will necessarily play on the phones. Sprint phones will play MP3's and AAC's ( the default format for Apple's iTunes software and Music Store) but not music purchased form other music stores even PC downloads from the Sprint service, oddly enough. With Amp'd you can play MP3's and WMA's but not songs downloaded from online music stores. AMP'd Live does allow you to order songs, ringtones and other content from your PC and have them automatically pushed to you phone.

Verizon

Verizon is the most "Apple unfriendly". It's phones don't play MP3's or AAC's the only formats used by iPod owners just WMA's. The only good news is that Verizon phones will play copy-protected WMA songs bought from other online stores (which of course rules out Apple iTunes content). I hope this helps you in terms of what cell phone you have now or are contemplating on purchasing. Below is a place that I found to be helpful in this process. Check it out.

The BlackBerry Torch 9850 VS The BlackBerry 9810

RIM, the makers of the BlackBerry handset that we have all come to know and love, have recently released the Torch 9810 that promises to be so much faster than its predecessor the 9800, giving the handset a lot more memory and a faster processing speed which can make your experience of using one of our favorite handsets so much more pleasurable.

Here's a bit about the 9850 and what it can do:

Verizon

· 8GB of local storage

The BlackBerry Torch 9850 VS The BlackBerry 9810

· The memory is upgradable to 32 GB if you use an SD card

· 768 Mega-bytes of RAM

· 1.2 GHz processor

· 4G - which is the latest network to be released on the market and is something that all new phones are aiming to be working on

· 3.2 inch touch screen

· 800 x 480 screen

· 640 x 480 screen resolution

· Runs on the new BlackBerry OS 7 software

· Wi-Fi enabled plus you can now make calls over Wi-Fi if your carrier will allow it

· 5 Mega-pixel camera

· Easier typing with a 'virtual key design'

The Torch 9850 is definitely a fast phone and it makes for an easier life, but it does seem that the makers of the BlackBerry are releasing a lot of handsets and although they are all very good, are they are very different from each other and if so, how?

The 9810 which is what we may call the 'Younger' version of this 9850 looks and acts pretty much the same as its older Brother even with regards to speed and the amount of memory it has (exactly the same), and although it is in its own right a very good phone it is not always compatible with certain apps due to the size of its screen and the method of input which can be a bit of a nuisance.

The 9900 has the same amount of storage as well as being roughly about the same size but it does not run on the faster operating system as the 9850, which means that it is slightly slower and although it is not considerably slower, there is a noticeable difference which has been one of the downsides to BlackBerry phones up until the 9850 was released.

If we think about the 9830 we can see that again it is not much different to the 9850, it has 8 GB of local storage and the opportunity for you to have up to 32 GB of memory should you use a micro SD card and it also has the same speed processor (1.2 GHz) but like the 9900 this model is still slightly slower thanks to its operating system.

When it comes to finding a service provider for your phone there are three main companies for you to choose from: Verizon, T-mobile and of course Sprint. Speed wise these providers are not very different although Verizon is slightly faster than the others especially when it comes to browsing, but it is not a significant difference that should worry you if you happen to go with Sprint or T-mobile. The choice is ultimately yours, but whatever provider you choose, they cannot take away the fact that the BlackBerry Torch 9850 is a faster and smoother handset that stands out from the crowd.

Cell Phone Plans That Make Sense For Seniors

For many seniors, the typical cell phone plans available via major US cellular providers are ill suited to their needs. This is particularly true for those who no longer work and have adult children who are no longer in their household. As calling plans have matured and consumers have begun to increasingly rely on their cell phones, the typical plan includes hundreds of minutes of talk time that some seniors simply won't use.

For these individuals there are options however. The first and most obvious option are any of the plans offered by Jitterbug, maker of the uncomplicated senior friendly cell phone. Jitterbug offers a variety of cell phone plans which are certainly less complicated and perhaps more appropriate for those needing fewer minutes of talk time. All of the Jitterbug plans eliminate the complexity of varied billing that is dependent upon time of day and location, as all calls are billed the same. Minutes rollover for at least 90 days and there is no contract to bind users if they choose to opt out at any time. One of the plans offers users a pay-as-you-go option at 35 cents/minute; a fairly high per minute rate but one that can still save money for those that have limited calling needs. There are also a number of monthly plans. For instance, a user can select a 150 minute plan for only /month or if they dislike monthly bills they can choose an annual plan. In fact, a user is able to select add-on-minutes only which roll over for an entire year and can cost as little as 15 cents/minute.

Verizon

Another option for seniors who have more restricted calling needs is the AT&T Senior Nation 200 Plan. By committing to a two year agreement, users can get 200 anytime minutes, 500 night and weekend minutes, and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling. The fact that there are no roaming or long distance charges does make the plan a bit simpler and the .99/month fee is certainly more affordable than the typical plan. Calls beyond the plan limit do however incur a higher rate; at 45 cents/minute.

Cell Phone Plans That Make Sense For Seniors

Verizon Wireless offers an equivalent plan through their Americas Choice 65 Plus Single Line Plan. It too provides 200 anytime minutes, 500 night & weekend minutes, and unlimited in network calling. Like its AT&T competition, this plan is available for .99/month for users who agree to a 2 year contract. For senior couples there is also an appropriate option; the Americas Choice 65 Plus Two Line Plan. This plan provides 450 shared anytime minutes, 1,000 shared night & weekend minutes and costs .99. Just as the Jitterbug plans require users to use a Jitterbug cell phone, these Verizon Senior plans require the use of Verizon's Coupe cell phone which is designed with larger buttons and an easy view screen.

Certainly, pay-as-you-go phones are another option for avoiding cell phone plans that commit the user to large bundles of minutes. However, for seniors who want a predictable bill, the consistency of a plan, and a phone that is for general use versus "emergency only", the above options are the primary choices at this time.

Phone, Internet, TV, Wireless...Comparing Bundled Services

This article will allow consumers to educate themselves on the best deals possible for bundled services. In the ever changing and ultra competitive world of telecom many consumers can be confused with the many different bundled plans and services most phone companies now offer. With the implementation of bundled services consumers can now have most all telecom products (phone, tv, internet, wireless) and services provided by the same company at a lower rate than having multiple service providers. This article will categorically break down plans provided by most major telecom service providers available in th US. Each provider will be rated based on blanket availability, services offered, and cost effectiveness. These are comprehensive reviews based on research and not personal experience. Phone Companies Beware this article is designed to educate consumers and provide the best possible options for telecom services.

First up AT&T The monopolizing entity of the Big 3 phone companies few can compete with the blanket availability of AT&T's products and services worldwide. Being one of only three telecom companies that also offer wireless phone service as a part of its residential bundle which also includes its unlimited calling plan phone service, satellite TV Through Dish Network and of course the world famous ATT Yahoo DSL. Few companies can compete, but there are cheaper bundled service plans out there especially for the consumer that is not interested in cellular phone service. Here is an example of the services offered and billing for the AT&T Residential bundled services plan.

Verizon

Unbeatable 5/5 stars if its available in your are choose Qwest!

Well here it is last of the Big 3 Phone companies Verizon. I'm wondering which of these companies will be around for the next 20 years with AT&T having a strangle hold on our national market. Verizon Phone company does provide some pretty stiff competition for Old Ma Bell though, Here are the details.

Phone- Verizon's Freedom Essentials provides unlimited calls to the US and Canada as well as the main basic calling features with voicemail being FREE 1 up on AT&T.

TV Service- Same Plan as Qwest with Direct TV more channels for the money as opposed to AT&T.

High Speed Internet- DSL the cable companies sure have 1 up on DSL consumers with faster speed available but in a bundle Verizon has a pretty good plan, Connection speeds up to 3.0 Mbps, More than 80 times faster than dial-up, Three installation steps
here is the one negative with their DSL service in the bundle One-year commitment required.

Wireless- Well We've all heard of the network on TV and the such and Verizon Phone Company does offer wireless services as part of its bundle with 450 anytime minutes and a standard wireless plan.

Bundled Plan Total Cost 134.99-144.99/mo depending on your area.

I would have to rate them #2 amongst the Big 3 as far as services and pricing but they do have the edge on Qwest based up blanket availability.

4.5/5.0 stars

Now we go on to the cable companies that have also submitted their bids for your telephone service as well first up we have Comcast Cable Company. Well if you are truly dedicated to cable TV and internet if available in your area Comcast Cable Company is the way to go all necessary equipment is Free after mail in rebates and services are exceptional based on consumer reviews online. Next Up Charter Communications, the reviews are in some good some bad and well some just plain indifferent. Charter Communication Cable...Cable TV's answer to the Big 3 phone companies (AT&T, Qwest, Verizon) and satellite tv's quest to crush cable have assembled their own bundled telecom services package as well. Though wireless cell phone services are not offered as part of the Charter Bundle. Charter does have a few advantages that may just sway a chunk of loyal wireless consumers back to the wired world. Wireless Cell Phone- NA

Bundled Plan Total Cost 99.97/mo

On Demand is Pretty Nice and no matter what DSL users say cable is faster than DSL but with no wireless service it means I still have to look at another bill month to month. Limited availability Though. 4.0/5 stars

Last but not least Time Warner Cable Company Well While Competing in huge markets such as New York, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio Time Warner has a bundled services package that seems to be the best for the loyal cable consumer. Still no wireless phone service but with high speed cable internet service through Road Runner and On Demand programming as well as a free DVR included in its digital Cable package it seems to be the service to outlast Charter and Comcast in the Cable Providers rank and file in our new telecom bundled services world.

Phone- It's time for a better residential telephone service. It's time for unlimited calling to anywhere in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, plus popular calling features for one low "monthly" price.

TV Service- Time Warner Cable Over 250 Channels
With features like Digital Video Recorder (DVR), you can now record anything you like and watch it later, with all the control of a VCR or a DVD. You can even pause live TV. Plus On Demand

High Speed Internet- high speed cable via Road Runner. Hey Its Cable internet always on and faster than DSL.

Wireless Cell Phone- NA

Bundled Plan Total Cost 99.97/mo

Wireless Internet Providers - Who is Best?

So you want to get wireless internet for your laptop, but you're not sure what you're options are huh? This short article will help you to choose the best mobile internet provider based on your circumstances. There a few criteria you should consider when choosing a mobile internet provider to receive wireless internet for laptops. They are:

Monthly Rate: Wireless internet for laptops is generally a little more expensive than internet for your home. A mobile internet provider generally charges -80 a month for their service with a month being average.

Verizon

-Lowest Cost Provider: CLEAR Wireless 4G, Cricket Wireless 3G (/month)
-Highest Cost Provider: Sprint Wireless 3G/4G, CLEAR Wireless 3G/4G, Qwest Wireless (/month)

Wireless Internet Providers - Who is Best?

Contract: Wireless internet providers generally require a 2 year contract. There are some however that do not require 2 year contracts and offer a month-to-month agreement option. Generally the cell phone companies will require 2 year contracts.

-Companies that Offer Monthly Agreements: CLEAR Wireless and Cricket Wireless
-Companies that Require 2 Year Contracts: Verizon, Qwest, AT&T, and Sprint

Download Speed: There is a large variance in download speeds amongst mobile internet providers. The slowest provider, Cricket Wireless, provides download speeds of 0.5-1.5 Mbps. The cell phone companies (Verizon, Qwest, Sprint 3G, and T-Mobile) offer wireless internet speeds of 0.5-2.0 Mbps. CLEAR Wireless offers mobile internet speeds of 2.5-10 Mbps. The reason for the great difference in download speeds is that CLEAR and Sprint operate a 4G wireless broadband network, whereas Cricket and the other cell phone providers use a 3G network.

-Slowest Download Speeds: Cricket Wireless, Qwest Wireless
-Fastest Download Speeds: CLEAR Wireless and Sprint Wireless (4G)

Coverage: There are differences in mobile internet coverage amongst the wireless internet providers also. 4G wireless networks have not been built nationwide yet so its coverage is somewhat limited. Currently 4G is available in over 25+ metropolitan areas nationwide (as of Jan 2010). Some of the larger city areas with coverage include Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Baltimore and Chicago. Because of this limited coverage, 4G coverage with CLEAR and Sprint are only offered in certain areas. By the end of 2010 however, 4G will be available in 80+ cities. 3G on the other hand is available pretty much nationwide, although it is somewhat limited for rural coverage.

-3G Coverage Only: Verizon, Qwest, T-Mobile
-4G Only Option: CLEAR Wireless
-Both 3G and 4G: CLEAR Wireless and Sprint Wireless

As you have probably now gathered, you have lots of options when it comes to mobile internet for laptops. What wireless internet provider you decide on will probably depend on the preceding criteria I have discussed. I hope that this article helps you to make an informed decision in choosing your wireless internet provider. If you require further assistance, please check out my resource box and website below.

Straight Talk Vs Boost Mobile Unlimited Prepaid Plans

Prepaid cell phone plans have become quite popular recently, as people have tried to cut back on expenses in more interesting ways. People who are trying to save money on household expenses inevitably turn to their cell phone bill as an area where they can cut some of the excess spending. As a result, people start to look at prepaid as a viable option because it often leads to savings.

Two plans are at the forefront of the prepaid marketplace: Straight Talk by TracFone and Boost Mobile Monthly Unlimited. Both companies have released very affordable Unlimited prepaid plans. Unlimited prepaid plans provide just what the title suggests--limitless talk time and text messages.

Verizon

Here's how these two plans stack cup against each other.

Straight Talk Vs Boost Mobile Unlimited Prepaid Plans

The Straight Talk prepaid plan costs for unlimited talk time, text messaging, and 30 MB of data usage. There are a variety of phones available on the plan ranging in price from to 0. Straight Talk runs on the Verizon network, which gives it good coverage.

Boost Mobile Monthly Unlimited costs for all the talk time and text messages the subscriber may want to use. In addition, it includes unlimited wireless web use, nationwide walkie-talkie features between Boost Mobile users, and free mobile-to-mobile.

Straight Talk runs on the Verizon network, which is a big plus since Verizon has one of the strongest networks in America. There is also ample data usage available. The Straight Talk unlimited plan is five dollars cheaper than the Boost Mobile plan, which may factor into your buying decision as well.

The Boost Mobile Monthly prepaid plan may not boast a network like that of Straight Talk, but it has a sufficient one. Consider also that you get limitless wireless web for web surfing, so if you use your cell phone to access the Internet quite frequently, this could be a good thing for you. The walkie-talkie option is another free option that comes with this cheap Boost Mobile plan.

One good way to delineate which prepaid cell phone plan may be the better option is to find which wireless provider gets better service in your immediate area. This is a very important concern because nothing is more annoying than getting spotty service in your area of residence, where you will presumably use your phone the most.

Between the TracFone Straight Talk plan and the Boost Mobile, it really is difficult to choose a winner. They are very similar in price and in what they offer, although both plans have different strengths as noted earlier. Other ways to reach a decision on which plan to choose would be to check out phone selection and also figure out which elements of each phone plan better suit your particular needs.

Who Has The Best Unlimited Plan?

There has been tons of press lately about the new unlimited cellular plans being offered by the four major carriers, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. Verizon was the first to offer an unlimited plan for .99 a couple weeks back. AT&T and T-Mobile followed suit quickly with their own .99 unlimited plans. Sprint took about ten days to announce their Simply Unlimited plan and it appears to be the best deal out there.

Here is a quick comparison of the unlimited cellular plans offered by Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

Verizon

Unlimited Cellular Only

Who Has The Best Unlimited Plan?

AT&T .99

Sprint .99

T-Mobile .99

Verizon Wireless .99

Unlimited Cellular, Text Messaging and Picture Messaging

AT&T 9.99

Sprint .99

T-Mobile .99

Verizon Wireless 9.99

Unlimited Cellular, Text Messaging, Picture Messaging, Data Access, and Mobile E-mail

AT&T 4.99

Sprint .99

T-Mobile 9.99

Verizon Wireless 9.99

Family Plans for 5 lines of service with Unlimited Cellular, Text Messaging, Picture Messaging, Data Access and Mobile E-Mail

AT&T 4.95

Sprint 9.99

T-Mobile 9.95

Verizon 9.99

I think Sprint made a good move by holding off a couple days before coming in with their Simply Everything unlimited plan. By waiting, they were able so see what the other carriers offered and then offer something better. All the other carriers charge extra for premium content and messaging functions but not Sprint.

Sprint beats the competition by at least 10% in every category. In the unlimited cellular, text messaging, picture messaging, data access and mobile e-mail category, Sprint is able to beat Verizon by bucks. That is a huge amount on a monthly basis. Even if you had to break your Verizon contract, by switching to Sprint, you would be saving money after 5 months. And the family plans! 5 saving over the AT&T monthly is amazing.

Great job Sprint!

List of Verizon Cell Phone Directory Resources

Verizon services is usually popular for providing high speed internet services and high quality phone services for a very economical rate. Similarly, Verizon provides the reverse look up services that can help a customer trace unknown numbers. However the search depends on the nature and kind of Verizon number one wants to find. There are many sections of phones such as business, residential or landlines. Wireless numbers are particularly hard to find compared to the landlines due to the number of carriers involved in providing these services.

A person can find the list of Verizon cell phone directory online. Likewise, one can obtain or locate the phone number through the Verizon phone directory, primarily. They offer extra services and schemes such as excellent customer service, or money back guarantee etc. Similarly locating list of Verizon cell phone directory online is also possible by searching them in the net.. Though the online cell phone directory service is not available in the internet, there are some sites and domains getting popular for providing these services. Here is a small list you could use to get started searching for open, public numbers that might be calling you:

Verizon

Search Google, Yahoo! or Bing Go to Google maps and do a search for the phone number Try an online directory for land lines (if the Verizon number is a land line)

List of Verizon Cell Phone Directory Resources

The trick of finding a list of Verizon cell phone directory is to just access a reliable site. A Look At The Top Cell Phone Service Providers

Choosing a cell phone, smart phone or 4G tablet isn't as easy as just reading reviews of the hardware. Picking the right cell phone service provider is crucial. Each of the major carriers offering cell phone service in the U.S. has their own lineup of phones, plans and features to offer, so what's the best way to choose? This guide to the four major U.S. cell phone service companies outlines some pros, cons and valuable information about each carrier that will make the choice a little easier.

Verizon Wireless

Verizon

With over 90 million customers in the U.S., Verizon is the country's largest carrier. This is with good reason, as their network coverage and reliability are the highest-ranked of the major cell phone service providers. Verizon's customer support has also garnered praise. The company has, however, attracted criticism for its early termination fees. While every carrier has these fees, Verizon charges much higher fines for canceling a contract on what they term "advanced devices." What this means to consumers is getting out of a contract for a smart phone, which just about everyone has today, costs 0. Still if you're dedicated to Verizon and planning on staying the length of the contract, their service is hard to beat.

A Look At The Top Cell Phone Service Providers

AT&T

AT&T really rose to prominence among cell phone service providers with the 2007 debut of the iPhone. Their four-year exclusivity deal with Apple meant anyone who wanted the sought-after technical marvel needed to switch to AT&T. Now that the exclusivity has passed, some of AT&T's rough spots are showing and they are losing ground. The company is still a popular choice for its sheer number of devices offered, the best selection among all major carriers. The only knock on AT&T is that its service is known to be inconsistent regionally. If you are big on hardware selection and already know reception is good in your area, though, it's definitely a safe bet.

Sprint

Sprint is looking to gain ground and differentiate itself from the other cell phone service providers with its variety of flexible plans dedicated to data usage. With more cell phone users employing their phones for texting, browsing and email than they do to make phone calls, this looks like a very savvy strategy. Sprint is now the only provider that offers an unlimited data plan, a major benefit for professionals and others who rely heavily on web connectivity. The downsides to Sprint, as reported by customers, are that their customer service is sometimes lacking and that coverage might be occasionally spotty based on location.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile is the newest challenger to the major cell phone service providers. The company works to differentiate by positioning itself as the most user-friendly of the major service providers. This approach is backed by excellent customer service and the widest variety of phone service options, geared toward allowing customers to pick exactly what services they need to build an affordable plan. The only downfall to T-Mobile is that their network is not up to par with the others in many areas, especially in 3G service. T-Mobile is an economical choice, though, so customers looking to save money may want to read local reviews to see if their nearby T-Mobile service would suit their needs.
